2010x08 Loni Love: America's Sister

  • 2010-05-08T04:00:00Z45m

Named by Variety as "One of the top ten comics to watch," comedian Loni Love has taken stand-up comedy to new heights.

Recorded live in Montreal, this is the much-awaited North American debut of Scottish comedy sensation Danny Bhoy. See why audiences around the world have been enraptured by Danny's unique brand of storytelling and some of the finest observational comedy in the world today.

Armed with his unique brand of cerebral comedic stylings, Cummins takes his audience through a menagerie of musings that emanate from a dark place that is as deep as it is wide. Live from his current hometown of Spokane, Washington, the quirky Cummins performs his own cynical brand of observational humor for a sold-out crowd, exploring such topics as the joys of drunk-gifting yourself, the absurdity of iPod vending machines and the perils of the “Tooth Gremlin.”

It's little question among comedy fans that Paul F. Tompkins is one of the superstars of the alternative comedy scene, one of the hardest working men in show business (all due respect, James Brown), and quite simply, constantly hilarious. This DVD marks a turn in his style, one that was a long time coming from his first two CDs, from dealing with the abstract and absurb to delving into his own personal life with honesty and levity. Recorded in the intimate venue of The Laughing Skull Lounge in Atlanta, GA, "You Should Have Told Me" is a story of adulthood in two acts, the first a booze-soaked trip though the excess of youth and out the other side, the second a heartfelt--and funny, of course--look at the nature of death and loss and family. Both are levened generously with the gift for absurity and metaphor offered in his earlier, conceptual work, but the fare they embellish is far more hearty.

Be careful what you wish for! Raising a family in the middle class sounds like a nice idea but what Juston brings to light in hilarious fashion is that a life of wife, house, kids and dogs is no picnic. Millions of Americans know what it's like to be stick in A Middle Class Hole where you can pick your friends but not your neighbors. So laugh along as Juston takes you through the cast of characters and situations that make his life os amusingly aggravating. You'll soon see why The New York Times said he was "destined for stardom" and why he has been a regular on network and cable TV for the past ten years!

2010x13 Kevin Hart: Seriously Funny

  • 2010-07-11T04:00:00Z45m

"Seriously Funny" stars Kevin Hart performing in front of a sold out crowd live from Cleveland, Ohio - where he delivers his hilarious and unique brand of comedy. In this unforgettable night of comedy, Kevin is in rare form and funny as ever!

Steve Byrne has established himself as one of the premier stand-up comedians of his generation. In his second one hour special, Steve asks the universal question "Who are you?" The result is a poignant, inventive, and immensely funny look at how we identify ourselves in America.

Money Shot finds Cummings riffing on a wide range of topics chiefly, the differences between men and women and how both tend to behave in relationships. And before you roll your eyes at the very thought of another comic covering this well-worn territory, Cummings has found an approach to the material that's unique enough to make her take on it very compelling. She's a foul-mouthed "guy's girl" who surrenders none of her femininity in order to be accepted by the male half, and she's just as honest and critical of women as she is of men. Her act never turns into "we're smart, you're not." Well, mostly.

2010x16 Bill Burr: Let It Go

2010x16 Bill Burr: Let It Go

  • 2010-09-19T04:00:00Z45m

It’s always been a dream of mine to do a show at the Fillmore. The name itself is synonymous with legendary performances. Countless iconic musicians and comedians have been on that stage. To be a part of that history was something I’ll never forget. As much as I was trying to keep my head together before the show, I couldn’t help but feel like a tourist or just some random dude who won a contest. LET IT GO represents the culmination of material I developed on the road from 2008-2009. As always thanks to everyone who came out to my shows, laughed at the funny stuff and stared during the bombing. I hope you enjoy it. – Bill Burr

Bo Burnham asks what's funny, admires life's silent poetry, performs a Shakespearian porn scene and shares some of his haikus.

With his firm grasp of the outrageous, Donnell Rawlings (HBO's The Wire) was born to make people laugh.
