Watch the amazing Season 1 and then the last 15 minutes of Season 4 Episode 6.
I'm orphan. Just watched the last episode... Continuum is a series that reminded me a lot about Time Trax - dunno how many of you out there remember this one. Kiera Cameron is an awesome character, and it felt as such a shame, to me, that (as a friend told me) they had to rush Season 4 to wrap things up. Loved every minute. Thank you Simon Barry, thank you ShowCase.
This is an ok show, it has a lot of scifi elements to it, which I like, and it has all the insanity of time travel. Season 2 ending is kinda of weird but I guess it works... the ending is bittersweet for Keira.
This show is shit in every timeline.
I loved this show. Season 1 and 2 were superb. Too bad it all went to sh*t after that. The going back in time and creating alternate timelines was the worst they could do to this series. Really a shame, would have enjoyed to watch more of season 1/2 quality.
I liked it, and then came the end...
This series was amazing, until the final season, in which they basically destroyed everything they could have done with this series.
It does not feel complete, and in fact is not complete either, many questions will remain unanswered, without any understandable reasoning why.
And the last season just feels dull, it totally shifted the whole atmosphere the series had to begin with, and takes everything to the extreme.
My feelings is that the story was written while the series already was being broadcasted, and when they came to the last season, they felt like they needed to end it quick, especially looking at how short the season is.
The ending itself was actually predictable, as that seems the exact way all movies and series want to end their story, with not a true happy end..
I still gave this series 8 stars, as the first 3 seasons were amazing, but I actually do not recommend even watching this, it is a dissapointment...
I found this show incredibly bad. I wanted to like it as I like other Showcase TVShows... went into it with a good state of mind but it just became to painful to watch after the went back in time. They forced so many plot points just to get the show moving.. I couldn't stomach it.
Season 1 was excellent; season 2 bombed; season 3 they tried to fix it with 'alternate timelines': each time the plot failed, they wrote it off as an alternate-timeline and then threw it out. There were lots of timelines, none of them worked. A shame the quality of season 1 couldn't be continued :-(
I watched up to episode 3 with the fitting name "Wasting Time" - Seriously, all those titles would reflect my opinion if I'd keep on watching :).
The show is just far too generic and doesn't excel at anything. It's saving grace is that most shows had their season finale when this one started. There are better ways to waste your time imho :)!
After all is said and done I must say I´m glad it´s over. What started as a promising show got screwed up more and more along the way and ended in a totally lame finale.
With all this alternate timelines they wrote themselves into a mess they couldn´t find their way out. That final season had about nothing to do with the original plot they came from.
And personally I found that Cameron character so anoyingly egoistic, self centered and manipulative that in the end I wanted her not to succeed.
This is one of the best sci-fi shows I've ever seen.
No big effects for most of the time. A few explosions here and there. But the plot really does it or me. Not because it's perfect - it's not - but because it's refreshing.
Having watched the 3 seasons altogether, I think most people that failed to relate to the show did so because the entire first season is about laying the foundations for the real story the show is trying to tell, so it can feel slow paced.
I can only say I'm happy I watched it exactly when I did. Anxiously waiting for the conclusion now...
I really started to like the show at the end of Season 1 and during the Season 2 run it was one of my favouite shows.
After the Season 2 finale I was a little apprehensive with where they would go in Season 3. I absoultely loved the opener! The show seems to have gotten an increase in effects budget and I really like the idea of the cult. Reminds me of the breeding Cult in Dark Angel - you have an immensely technological future which is still ruled by cults.
I like it! Acting is a bit sketchy at times but I really enjoy the story line.
Absolutely phenomenal! The main cast carries this show well. The effects and action stay decent. The writing can get a bit fuzzy but still works throughout the whole series. The ending is perfectly bittersweet. If you like time travel, then watch it. This show touches on everything time travel can do.
You know, time travel is a really difficult topic to deal with when it comes down to a good, coherent story. Time travel is doing everything it can to tear down the walls of logic, yet somehow, this series is able to have a golden thread weaved through it that makes a lot of sense of what is actually happening right now.
The possibilities are literally endless from this moment on and it starts to get a lil messy.
Even though the possibilities include the good as well as the bad I am looking forward where this show will go. Hopefully this will keep up the great writing that it had so far.
It's picking up the suspense in season 3 directly from the start.
In addition the once in a while addition of a (temporary) Ex-Stargate actor is really nice, too.
Incidentally, this show is the best SciFi show since the Stargate franchise was put on hold (closely followed by Almost Human).
And it actually feels like a SciFi show, nowadays that is rather rare trait.
I really wanted this to be good but in the end the main story gets lost in regular crime investigation and medium-budget action scenes. I will maybe give this show another try later.
can't wait for season 2! Yes, Continuum has been renewed for a second season!!!!
Pretty damn cool suit. :)
great pilot but the rest not so much, I am going to drop this if it doesn't get any better, the setting and the idea behind it is still great if only they stayed in the future.
In episode 3, when Kiera sits at the coffee shop and "talks to herself", and everybody looks at her like she's a crazy person, only to be "not crazy" the second she puts on the headset on the ear facing the window. And at the beginning when they're conducting the raid in the future, the way they move around, hold the guns and..bah, what kind of brilliant genius wrote those scenes? (Yeah, that was sarcasm)
This isn't the only thing that is bad with this show, it lacks a ton in good acting. I'm still giving it a shot since the story and plot is interesting enough. I just hope it picks up in the coming episodes.
Such an amazing show. a lot of up's and down's, full of suspense. great action. this show speaks a lot of a possible future in our reality if we are not vigilant. This show is a warning of what can happen if humanity stands by and let corporations governments collude with each other. many of the issues in this show we currently face. from big Agra to big pharma to, big to fail corporations. when watching this show keep this in mind.
This has been on my watchlist for years and I’ve finally got around to watching it. For the most part, it was fantastic but the sheer number of plotholes is outstanding.
The first season is excellent. Second, less so, but still okay.
Third and fourth? The writers were scrambling with no plans or clue as to where anything was going and it was clear a few episodes into season 3 that they hadn’t thought this far ahead. Anything they couldn't figure out they just washed away or created an alternative timeline for.
Season 3 basically made it so they didn’t have to answer any of the pressing questions from the first two seasons and could just wipe away anything they didn’t know or understand. No more flashbacks, no acknowledgement outside of Kiera saying that she wanted to go home. The last season is where they try to tie everything back in, but it feels rushed and desperate.
The ending was the perfect mix of bittersweet and made the poor planning and odd filler episodes worth it. It was great to see that both Alec and his brother had become a better version of themselves. Keira not understanding that her son wouldn't be born was frankly baffling though - everything they had done was so that future didn't exist so how was her son and marriage supposed to? Plus, why did they have him look exactly like her son with two totally different parents?!
Key unanswered plotholes:
The CIA/NSA investigation just magically went away, even after the lead was mysterious murdered.
Did the husband know what Alec was planning? Scenes would indicate that he did, but this was never answered.
What was the deal with Alec's father? Nothing there was explained including his reasonings for everything. Same as how Alec's son escaped from the freelancers.
The big cooperative overlords that told evil Alec to slow down and were halting production... Who were they and what was their purpose?
Liberat8? Oh, we don’t need them anymore, so let’s let them just fade away and have a few turn allies. Never mind the fact that they were a nationwide (global?) organization at that point.
The freelancers were only talked about for half a second and things were never adequately explained. Plus, who was the original freelancer and why was Curtis so obsessed? Nothing about the freelancers was even slightly explained well. It had the vibe of when a show is desperately trying to create a spin-off and using the current show for momentum.
:movie_camera: Overall:
Story = 7/10
Soundtrack = 0/10
Acting = 8/10
Total = 6.5/10
Overall not a bad show and it's a nice cop/time travel/saving the world mix of genres that mesh quite well together.
After watching a fiasco of modern TV called Mr. Robot, I needed to come back to review this TV show, which also has the theme of social revolution mixed with personal "journey", and I realised this is a masterpiece. It has better and more stable, rounded characters, better understanding of society. This show isn't obsessed by extreme individualism and it does a great job of exploring motif of selfishness against caring for others/greater good. Authors of this show are theoretically equipped, aren't swimming in cliches and obvious popular culture rip-offs, style never preceeds the substance and ambitiousness didn't ate the whole point and internal coherence of the show, which is apparently a hard thing to do, no matter the budget.
pretty mediocre & predictable.
fine for something to fall asleep to or not requiring much brain power when hung over
Anyone have any ideas where the Specials are aired? Can't find them.
Great show. You have to keep in mind that they did not opt for a 6 episode season to finish the show. They were told this is how many episodes they could run before they got cancelled. So they crammed and missed things out, so bearing that in mind - they did a magnificent job.
Here we have another time-travelling detective series in the vain of Crime Traveller and Life on Mars from Simon Barry (Hamlet, The Art of War) who created, produced and directs this science-fiction TV crime drama. In 2077 and in a effort to avert the rise of a dictatorial and Orwellian corporate regime a group of so-called freedom fighters calling themselves 'Liber8' time travel back to 2012 in a effort to avoid execution, unwittingly bringing with them 'Keira' a CPS (City Protective Services) Law Enforcement Officer, played perfectly by Rachel Nichols (GI Joe Rise of Cobra). One of the shows strong points are the characters themselves and the writing. The basics done good in my book, it never really goes beyond the basics, leaving the characters themselves to tell the story (as it should be 'Sense8' take note), there's no overuse of CGI, except in the later seasons, but thats mainly for the opening title sequence. I actually really like this show, it's a well put together production by Reunion Pictures Inc, Boy Meets Girl Film Company and GK-TV. If you like more character based TV dramas, then I'd happily recommend this to anyone. Looking forward to 4th and sadly final season this September
I liked this show a lot. Shame it's ending.
@ hpf
If you weren't able to even finish watching season 1 how are you, and why are here commenting in season 3.
All in all the show has gotten much better then when it first started in my opinion. But you wouldn't know since you haven't watched it in 2 years. But it obviously left an impact on you since you still remember watching it and felt you needed to take the time to comment on it.
I like the direction in which season 3 is going. That Kara begins to doubt her beliefs and begins to consider that liber8 have some legitimate points. It seems that it is what they were aiming for from the start , but it took them to long to get there.
It's too cliché, come on, "Alec I need you to add some stuff for me in under 30 secs into an ultra secure military hidden top secret database, can you do that or me?" "Yeh sure, give me 15 seconds".
Or the infamous "Here is a super grainy picture from a security camera, let's see who's that in the far distant out of focus background in the night... Computer, enhance!".
Whenever the story is stuck or facing a seemingly impossible dead end, technological magic comes to the rescue because, you know, he's a genius and she's from the future.
I was excited to start the show but I couldn't even finish Season 1. It's pretty cool that it's set in Vancouver though, too bad the action is so ridiculous.
Excellente série de SF
Интересно, чем закончится
Don't know what it is but, I find it hard to take this show seriously.
i can't stand some cliffhangers anymore!I couldn't believe episode 13 was the last of the season 2.So this season was kind of a let down for me even though it had some good ideas(Rise of Theseus,Freelancers,...).I hope it will improve in season 3.
Love it.
Season 3 coming spring 2014. :)
So glad this is on Netflix, otherwise I would've never known of it. I think they did a great job in casting the main characters. very good~
Can't wait for the next episode!
The show is getting better and better with every new episode. Great that it overcome some stupidities that were in the first season!
i think it's not running on syfy but on canada's ShowCase :)

Could the bad guys possibly be the good guys? [season 2]
I really liked the chemistry between kellog and kierra . It was really awesome to watch them together. But in season two both have very less interaction. Its bugging me
Almost gave up on this one when it turned into a generic detective show mid season. Was worth sticking it out. The last episode sets a stage for a potentially great season 2.
This is the best scifi ahow ive seen since sg universe was cut. Cant wait for season 2 :-D
This show is the best scifi show on right now, and it is fantastic regardless of genre
I like it, but i agree with Janshi, the main story gets lost sometimes, But overall, im entertained when im watching it.
Hopefully a bigger budget next season would equel a better show.
Waiting in anticipation for season 2
I liked it, there is a real lack of scifi shows at the moment, so this was a fresh breath.
end of season was good enough to not drop it afteral
I actually enjoyed this one far more than I thought I would. Hopeing for a second season...
OK. Got confused by the final shot of S01.
Was expecting bit more drama and action.
Will it be continued?
I think, I do not care anymore... ;-)
Plot is fun. Action is great. Only the emotional scenes are not really convincing.
Overall over the average.
Watch the 2 first episodes.
How is the ratings with this show? I don't see myself starting with a new series knowing it will be canceled
bevigilant said it all!
If the 'most watched episodes' chart over here is any indication the show is not doing so good :(
Too bad, i'm quite fond of it. It's pretty interesting and Rachael is pretty.
I can just agree with @Sereniity - was pretty good and wide open to make a good story/stories. But cancelling after one season seems for shows I like seems to be the to be hype atm. Really sad that the producers does that, even though they get great support!
I didn't know the canadians are doing such awesome shit!
It reminds a lot of "Equilibrium".
It startet like other shows/movies finish and you can't really say who are the bad guys, yet.
Right from the beginning I thought "This seems to be well produced..." and I wasn't disappointed - the pilot was really gret, hope it stays that way!
Thanks trakt community, I wouldn't have found this without you ;)
Terminator bring back to life...
Not a bad pilot. Looks promising.

What an amazing ending, couldn't be better.
