City couple Abz Love and his girlfriend Vicky Fallon are intent on living a self-sufficient life, but with barely any money and even less know-how, their first winter tests them to their limits. By selling everything they own, they are able to start work on draining the land and restoring the polytunnel and garden plot. Their new neighbours in the valley all rally round - supplying know-how, chickens and much-needed help as the first signs of spring appear.
