The setting for this daily series is the fictional Bavarian village of Lansing, idyllically situated in the countryside near Munich. The most important "communication center" in Lansing is the venerable "Brunnerwirt" inn, which is managed by the innkeepers Theresa and Joseph Brunner. The Brunners are fighting a bitter feud with the Kirchleitners, the owners of the local brewery. The roots of the family feud go back many years, but are constantly being revived by the quarreling family members. In the series, a weakened form of the Bavarian dialect is spoken, on the one hand to let the local color come into its own and on the other hand to ensure that viewers above the white sausage equator can understand it.
