When Rue told Jules in the car she didn't like her dammmmn. :flushed:

I think Jules dare game with Rue and Elliot and her preoccupation with their relationship is stemming from a projection to see what someone (like herself) could fall for in him.

That was quite a speech from Cal.

Cassie was crying & vomiting & flipping out all at once. Liked her pink swimsuit.

I liked this episode the best so far probably bcuz there was momentum with rue/Jules +elliot and maddy/nate/cassie.

it’s painful that Zendaya is in this (and doing an absolute amazing job) because then I am forced to watch it and even tho so episodes are somewhat worth it, others like this one are literally the most pretentious empty weird self-important 60 minutes of tv. sigh. at least Zendaya is in it.

everytime i think cassie has hit rock bottom that girl gets LOWER.

This episode was art in its purest form.

I'm probably just drunk and high but the emotional layering, raw honest truth, and come to Jesus moments regarding addiction and secrets along with the slick almost surreal editing and photography make this a lossless compression of modern art

the most normal and sane person in this show is the drug dealer

This show is going no where and spends 20 minutes as a music video

That scene of Cal in the bar was heart-wrenching. He's been a monster up until this point but it was a very humanizing moment for him. Regardless of what he's done, you still feel for him. He's had to hide a fundamental part of who he is. He's never been able to truly be himself (at least openly). His sadness was infectious.

What a beautiful way to pay credit to Labrynths fantastic contribution to this show.

Strong episode! I actually don‘t like neither Cal nor Nate but in this episode I had sympathy with them.

If there's not a drunk driving accident by the end of this season, the show is just promoting it at this point.:sweat_smile: At least with the other drugs, even though consequences vary, at least they seem to exist.

I don't know what's the plan for Cal but at least these past couple of episodes made his existence in the show mean something.

Anything can come out of the whole Cassie/Nate/Maddy but I have to say that this was the first time I really saw something in it, and that was because they made me laugh multiple times throughout the episode.

Kinda brutal episode for Jules. She and Elliot backstabbing Rue notwithstanding, the gaslighting still stings.

Also, are Fezco's chickens coming home to roost?

in shock of how cal literally just blew up his whole entire fucking life here

WOW EPIC the father story was lit.

Cassie would be atrocious if it wasn’t for Sydney Sweeney’s amazing acting

Wild episode. "Wear a seatbelt" has to be the last straw for anyone still a fan of Nate. I will say I was fucking dying of laughter when Cassie threw up in the pool, hilarious scene. The Cal monologue kept jumping from amazing to drunk tirade but was still a fun watch. I don't understand how Maddy can't tell there's nothing going on between Cassie and Nate. How can everyone not tell by now? That scene with Elliot and Jules with the hand was very cringe, tough scene from Mr. Levinson. Looking forward to next week as always, where I guess we get to find out the highly unlikely chance our series main character has a fatal overdose. Waving things in front of the viewer that won't happen has to be my biggest TV pet peeve.

Forgot to say it but a comment below reminded me. But it's true, Sam Levinson will grasp as weakly as he can to a plot as he throws some great shots at you. Cool now as its still new, first episodes were jam packed, but I could see it getting old.

I previously liked the Cal arc, but this was lazy writing. Having Cal give a whole speech clearly laying everything about his storyline is a cheap way to tell the audience what to think and why.

Drink Before the War was a perfect touch at the end.
I have yet to see any show or a movie with such stellar soundtracks.

fyi if anyone is about to watch this, DO NOT watch it right after or while eating. i ate like seven meatballs before watching and hoooooly shit, regretting that decision sdghfjkgjhjgk.

overall, it was alright. the visual aspects + performances are great as always, but some scenes did not need to be as long as they were.

I really hate that Jules just keeps on cheating on Rue. Every time I make an attempt at thinking these two could work out, Jules just goes ahead and hooks up with someone else… That’s not love. That’s toying with someone’s feelings! I kinda think Jules likes the attention she gets from Rue more than she actually loves her.
Also, I’m so angry that it was Elliot who Jules chose to hook up with. Like, this means that not only did she cheat on Rue, but she also stole Rue’s friend, which is an extra shitty move. It’s really sad because I genuinely liked Elliot and especially his friendship with Rue, but now I’m pissed at him too. So very disappointing

P.S. I don’t care if this is a controversial opinion, but I actually really like Cal

A lot covered this episode. Some of it I sympathise with, some of it damn right frustrating to see. But the cinematography of the final shots of Jules and Cassie were stunning.

I died laughing watching this episode and I wasn't even high. Loved the jules interviewing that dude, class being mistaken for being in the play, fez and cal being confused on what's happening and that girl asking cal questions like do the father and son fuck together lmao..genius rue bicycling away with a suitcase filled with 10k worth of drugs.. funny shit a round.

This crappy episode dragged on sooo long that it burned out any interest in watching future episodes.
