1x11 Serenity

Almost 20 years old, but still one of the best scify series ever. Great pilot.

It was nice to watch, I enjoyed it, given it was 2002 back then, so it is a 9/10 XD

It's been a hot minute since I rewatched this show apparently. I was there at the start for the janky watch order and the times since in the proper. The show definitely gets overhyped and glorified by fans but it's a solid pilot. Once you get past the rough opening scenes anyway.
It's the classic and predicable Joss Whedon writing style but the space western has its charm. Here for starting the ride all over again

I enjoyed it until Mal shot the horse. Nice episode nevertheless, a dirty adventure in space with interesting characters.

After strong recommendations from friends and coworkers, I decided to join in the game. I am watching it in proper Blu-Ray order, and after watching this and The Train Job, I am sort of sympathizing with the TV executives, frankly.

I found this pilot episode to be very slow to start with weak character intro and fragmented storyline. The Train Job was mostly pointless, too, but this episode needed to be more focused and tighter.

To its credit, the episode picks up its pacing on the second half and there are enough likable characters to hang on to. But I am not sure I will like this series.
