Ada brings Walter home for the first time, for a fish and chip supper. Leslie and Ruth come home early and are introduced to Walter in somewhat an unconventional manner - and worst of all for Ruth, he's wearing her late father's best suit.
Ada invites Walter for Sunday tea with the family, but when Mrs Bingley answers his front door the next day, are things as rosy as they have seemed?
Walter takes Ada for an 'off-white' weekend break in Bognor Regis. Ruth is far from amused and drags Leslie across the country to bring her back home.
Leslie wins 4 tickets to the Cup Final at Wembley. After car troubles on the way to the match, they make it to their seats just in time for the kick-off.
Annoyed with Walter's refusal to go to the dance at the Over 60s Club and his accepting overcooked pies from other women, Ada decides that the best course of action is to make him jealous.
Walter proposes to Ada, but struggles to find the money for the ring she likes. Their engagement gives Leslie the chance of an "early night" with Ruth!
