I have seen season 1,2 and 3. But I can't get myself to continue. The series is beautifully made, it really is. But I just can't seem to get into the story.
This show is awesome but a little too strong.
I can tell you that Game of Thrones is phenomenal, staggering, surprising, beautiful, emotional, action-packed and thrilling rollercoaster. Prior to watching the shows I read all the books published till that time. Books>show. However, the show is superb, as the characters are so dramatic and complicated that we may love some but we love to hate some (e.a. Cersei). HUGE plot twists and turns that make the show so amazing. Literally, it is a game for the throne. More families that you can count t fight over the land of Westeros for ascending that throne. Save for the northern families, that desire their own homes and families. Furthermore, the plot doesn't end there. In the far north. a legendary military order, the Night's Watch is dedicated to defending the kingdoms from threats north of the Wall, a sctructure 700ft high. Watch it and you will be rewarded.
10/10, and Winter is Coming.
This is a really great show overall tbh. Season 6 managed to get me to really like Jon and Cersei (my former most hated character) in just 2 episodes. Some people say GoT is character driven but i really have to disagree. GoT has somewhat weak characters and is interesting because of the events that happen in the story, not because of the characters who cause them. Some of D&D's decisions have the opposite effect on viewers that they're supposed to have (like trying to make people think Jon is charging forward towards Ramsay out of blind rage when we know that he sees arrows being shot at him and therefore come to the conclusion that he's trying to avoid them, trying to make the viewers fear Jon for justifiably beating the everloving shit out of his half-sister's rapist and half-brother's murderer, etc. I'm told OITNB makes similar decisions.) and the Tumblr fem fanservice (women being accepted into positions of power without any backlash in an extremely misogynistic society, le jaden smith squint I wil rool..." dragon mom herself, etc.) can be cringey but it still has good enough writing and action to appeal to its male viewers. I'd give it an 8 because of some of the decisions made in seasons 5 and 6 but I'm bumping it up to a 9 because of bastardbowl and some scenes in earlier seasons that I really enjoyed.
I just don't know why I haven't got one favourite tv show... but when I think in depth about it, GoT seems to be the right one... don't know yet tho

Keeps definitely keeps me interested. It's getting better every season. But to me - it's not genuine fantasy - it lacks heart. I know this is may sound controversial. But many seasoned fantasy-fans agree.

Daenerys Stornborn, Mother of Dragons, etc., yet again, is seen as a conqueror, not as sitting on an iron throne....The big bad dragon is back, and bad as hell!! Only 4 episodes left; I shant bear it....
Stop comparing the show to the books; enjoy them in their respective mediums. Whichever medium you chose to indulge first, you won't be disappointed if you are a fan of a good storytelling. However, you need to be able to enjoy a long and drawn out story. If you are in it for the instant gratification of sex or violence, it will feel like the Viagra you took suddenly stopped working when you needed it the most!

Read the books as they came out, I find this to be extremely well done and a mostly faithful adaptation of the books. The real heroes are the casting people and the art direction, I honestly can't think of a single casting decision I disagree with and feel as if the books have come to life.

GoT is set in a complex fictional world with an incredible array of characters, strong, with a depth hard to find in most shows let alone one based in a fantasy world. Each actor has put their all into their part. Winter is Coming.

Clearly deserves the top position in every aspect among all the tv series. It's a mind boggling story and one can never expect or predict what would happen next. You can place a bet by going through facts and all but even then the story would continue to amaze you with all its plot twists and mythological environment. We all are like Mr. Snow in this series, we all know nothing in the end.

Amazing show, I love it!
It's a great show. It has various characters with their own unique personalities. You can see something of yourself in almost every character. It makes it hard to pick sides or have favorites, which makes you look at the whole story. I really love it and i'm busy reading the second book at this moment.

Season 5 has been a disappointment of epic proportions. They've scarcely kept to the books.
I have a love hate relationship with this show. On one hand when they stick to the book and certain actors (Nikolaj, Sophie, Alfie, etc.) are given the proper screen time it is a great adaptation of one of my favorite book series. On the other hand when they show runners try to improvise their way around the story the results can be catastrophic especially when giving actors like Emilia Clarke or Sibel Kekilli a lot of screen time. They also simplify everything too much. It's a complex story, leave it complex. It's not the greatest show ever but it's worth a watch if you're into fantasy or political drama.
Excuse me, but what exactly happened in season 2 through season 4? In every season there was one interesting episode, maybe two. Season 1 was the best in my opinion; each episode was thrilling and exciting. I could't wait for the next episode. Now when I watch it I literally fall asleep.
Khaleesi and Jon Snow are just as beautiful as they are boring. Yes, Daenerys is a strong and powerful woman, but all she does is talk and even though she moved a lot the past seasons, her character is static. On the other hand, what Jon constantly does is training. Nothing exciting about that. Still, "The Watchers on the Wall" episode was one of the two interesting episodes of season 4.
The same happens with another show that started amazing and now there is almost nothing interesting in it: The Walking Dead.

I read the books first. Kudos to the makers of this series. They do the books justice. Never 10/10* but a solid 8/10* is deserved. It's rough, gritty and corny at times. I really like it. If you can't see beyond the sex and the sometimes excessive violence this is not for you. Go watch something else.

Such a quality show. On paper it seems impossible to come out on top with a Fantasy series involving dragons, nudity and monsters. However, it's done, and with excellence! I picked it up because I heard it was based on books written by a Fantasy writer who hated Fantasy. That was enough for me to become intrigued (since the genre has been utterly killed in the 90s and 00s). Great acting, unexpected turns of events, a wonderful focus on politics and power games instead of mindless war scenes that the genre is otherwise infested by, and lots of warmth and complex humanity. And honestly, some of those gritty sex scenes in the first seasons...

One of the best show I've watched in a long long time. The story isn't as typical as the American tv and movie stories we are accustom to. I am sick and tired of the white American super hero coming to save the day bullshit. In this show you shouldn't expect anything else but least expected. I love it. I mean look at it's rating. Unbelievable. Great plot. Great casting. Great writing.

The Americas didn't learned about this in history but in the era of the show women here treated this way and men only cared about fighting and fucking. Season 1 was interesting, season 2 was awful, season 3 was not really bad at all. If I would have watched season 2 before season 3, I would have stopped around episode 4 and never watched this show again. Thank the writers for Khaleesi, she's the only reason I continue to watch at this point.
So many plot holes, such horrible writing, boring drama, action is only near the end of each episode as to manufacture a cliff hanger. And the biggest issue I have is the complete ignorance to time. How long does it take to walk, compared to riding, etc? I have 3 seasons of Gotham coming up next, but getting through the next 3 seasons of GOT my be impossible.
I would not recommend this show.
