I’m so happy they finally booked a wedding!!
But I don’t get why out of all things that needed to be moved from the garden, they chose to focus on a statue! I don’t feel like it was necessary to move it and it even adds like some purpose to the garden and makes it look fancy (or less shitty) but I’m glad everything worked out
Fanny is outstanding in this, really makes the episode!
Good episode in many respects although the main story of them cleaning up the garden for a wedding ended up being a subplot and the side stories were the main focus. I feel like the wedding clean up was too contrived, Kitty being best friends with the statue made the most sense but the idea that getting rid of the statue was important, was nonsense. Why was Mike digging at all let alone right where The Captain's explosive secret was conveniently located, then he just happened to burn the garden waste right there (Mary in the middle of the flames was a nice convergence of stories between her and Kitty). They needed that specific garden area for the wedding rather than the large open grassed areas that have already been established. They would have needed to hire a small earth mover to clear that space but somehow they not only cleared it but made it look pretty?!
I liked all the side stories except for the volleyball game with Humphries Head which didn't work for me with it's poor special effects and departure in tone but I can imagine others finding it funny (you know, "others" with inferior taste in comedy).
Nice bait and switch on the Captain stuff. Leading us to believe the letter and burial were connected to his (clear!) romantic feelings for the other soldier. There's been plenty of hints along the way that he's gay so this episode has all but confirmed it.
Kinda hoped the storyline of captain and his secret love crush would be true.

it's a little bit annoying that this episode's premise is copied and pasted from the previous one. They've got X amount of time to clean up until people come to view it for a wedding. Except for this time, it's the garden and we've got more backstory of on of the ghosts, which are always my favourite parts.
