So was the premise from the last episode that the girl was starting to trust Chief? Until they punished her? I’m confused, or was they the plan all asking to get his trust?
Would have been good too see how Kai survived the crash lol lazy writing, they keep making these soldiers invincible. Why wouldn’t she just jump out last minute seeing as they can drop from planes way higher.
By far my favorite character is Kai

Anyway the show is ok. Im not coming from a die hard Halo fanbase so i like it more than the majority. We will see how the next season does.

Amazing episode. Loved the scenes on the secret Covenant planet that looked like a map straight out of the video game.

it was good until the battle at the temple, the cgi is so bad in this show it's not even funny.
I really liked the closure for this first season, their characters are already shown in their real facet, I hope it's not the end of Makee.
So they pulled 'The Witcher' template. Use the whole first season as the forward for the rest of the book.
I'm not sure if I have the energy to invest in Halo for season 2. At least 117 shut up for the last 5min of this episode. And maybe he's had that helmet welded onto his damn shoulders!
And as bad writing does they crushed the whole major plots of each arc into the last 30 min of the last episode...
Halo games series is full of easter eggs and they started taking that into this series as well. In the ending of the S01E09 as Dr. Halsey is writing and narrating something, she is wearing a long jacket and the word "صلح" is written on the back. The word is Arabic means "Reconciliation" and "Peace" in Persian.
It was a very cleaver way to embed a message like that in the ending of an episod where the Master Chief becomes Master Chief truely. Hoping with the recent events, we won't see more of Chief without his helmet.
There you have it Master Chief as it is in the games, there is no reason to complain anymore
Wait, does that mean it was Halsey's clone all the time ? Or when did she made the switch ? I think both, John and Makee will be back at some point as they seem to important for the plot.
As someone who does not know the games or books or anything else about this universe, I can say I enjoyed this very much. I can't compare if it is true to that material and therefore I don't care. I hope there'll be a second season.
Although it has moved away quite a bit from the "canon" and the essence of the characters little by little makes its own way.
The departure of John's mind closes a season with ups and downs.

Season finale. It was good how it ended. When a villain does not believe he is the villain, but he believes he does it for the good of humanity. waiting for season 2
The first season of Halo is both a disappointment and miracle.
It rises above what is to be expected for a video game adaptation. A solid cast, multi-layered storylines, and top notch visuals. It is easily one of the very best demo materials for videophiles, with vivid color and deep contrast that would push calibrated Dolby Vision OLED screens to their limits all the while stressing every channels and frequency range of Dolby Atmos speakers.
But these unrealized potentials only amplify disappointments. Most of the cast do what they can do, but uneven pacing and lack of character development amplify their weaknesses. Natascha McElhone is expectedly excellent as a lead scientist driven by consequentialism (the end justifies the means), an archetype she has perfected over the years. But many of the newcomers struggle to portray two dimensionally written characters.
But the biggest disappointment is surprising lack of action. A sci-fi action series based on a video game should have a lot more action. This episode finally offers a climatic battle scene, but it plays more like a cliched video game cut scene.
The season finale ends with many questions, enough to drag me into watching a second season.

What weird and jumbled show.
42 I Halo felt soulless sometimes with a bunch of visual effects but average cinematography. Some of the cinematography is good but mostly boring. That was unfortunate because the story was in multiplanet ecosystems. The possibility with the kind of set is usually high to create a beautiful visual but Halo could not deliver it well. Not only the cinematography, but the details of the writing also was not so good. One of them is regarding Spartans who describe as cold killing machines but they are just like normal people with armor. Nothing special to see from them from the character's point of view. But Halo still has a good aspect from it which is some of the action scenes and that is the only interesting element. In addition, Captain Jacob Keyes's performance was above the average characters in this series, we hope for something more from him.

I was just about to like it again with some action between the covenant and master chief ...
But the Cortana take over was bad.. totally going against the story line. Personally even if they did not want to follow the game story mode still Cortana take over was not cool
Nine episodes in, just as we start to see the game play action and the excitement increases. It’s the finale and all the expectation but less of the reward delivered.
Couldn’t we have gotten 15 episodes and finish the season with a bit more flesh on the bones? Feels like I watched the trailer more to come…

I really disliked the whole ‘cortana mode’ at the end, they got the whole Halo story wrong imo. The point of Cortana is to show two drastic sides of a coin, a human soldier who acts like a machine and an AI who feels very human.
