And after a whirlwind year of recording and touring, X Factor winner Leon Jackson makes a triumphant return home to Scotland to celebrate Hogmanay in style. He will be performing tracks from his debut album, Right Now, including his recent hit Don't Call This Love. Jam packed with surprises and celebrity guests, it promises to be a night to remember.

Scots Singer of the Year 2008/9 Emily Smith has firmly established herself as a leading light in the Scottish folk scene and guarantees to deliver a spellbinding performance. There will be a very special surprise after midnight, and if that wasn't enough an all-star house band featuring folk royalty - John McCusker, Michael McGoldrick, Ross Hamilton and James McIntosh - promises to take the roof off! BBC Scotland celebrates Hogmanay right across the country on Scotland's Hogmanay Live this year. From street parties to castles, memorable music and 2012's great moments, that plus one of the biggest performances of Auld Lang Syne ever attempted, make this the show to see out the old and bring in the New Year. For the first time, the programme will be live from some of the biggest Hogmanay street parties in Scotland. Jackie Bird presents live from Edinburgh's Princes Street as we join the thousands of revellers who come from all round the world to enjoy the capital's Hogmanay celebrations. We're also going live to Stirling Castle to sample the party there and to the capital of the north, Inverness, for more Hogmanay Highland style. We'll also have a party of our own live from BBC Scotland's studios in Glasgow. Providing the soundtrack to a great Hogmanay will be Scottish bands Frightened Rabbit, Rachel Sermanni, and Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain. The music doesn't stop there, for the first time we'll be broadcasting performances from the brilliant Proclaimers as they bring in 2013 with a special concert on the esplanade of Stirling Castle. The show will be at the heart of the 'midnight moment' as we see out the old year with a Lone Piper on the battlements of Edinburgh Castle, firing the midnight gun that marks the start of the New Year and also the start of the spectacular fireworks that get 2013 going with a bang. Straight after midnight, we're planning to bring the country together as we unite thousands of revellers at events round the country and viewers at home in a mass singalong of New Year's traditional song of friendship, Auld Lang Syne. Join Jackie Bird for a spectacular end to the year on Hogmanay Live 2014. It's been an incredible year for Scotland, and this packed programme will give 2014 the send off it deserves with live music form some of Scotland's best performers, an emotional look back at the events of the year and a brilliant party atmosphere live from the Old Fruitmarket in the centre of Glasgow. There's a mix of great new acts and some traditional favourites lined up to get the party started wherever you are, plus some very special moments to mark the end of a momentous year. From the Old Fruitmarket, one of the musical highlights of the year will be marked when King Creosote, aka Kenny Anderson, performs two of the fabulous tracks from his beautiful 'From Scotland with Love' project, combining his own music with some of the best Scottish film archive, it's an ideal moment for Hogmanay - great tunes and an ample serving of nostalgia. To get us all dancing the electrifying Blazin' Fiddles will be on stage with their lightning fast fiddles and guitars, there will also be some of the best live music from Edinburgh as, for the first time, the show features some of the great tunes keeping the crowd warm on the streets of the capital from Scotland's own Twin Atlantic. And, of course, no Hogmanay would be complete without two of the country's favourite traditional musicians, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain. As well as all that great live music there will be made some specially made films looking back at the momentous events of 2014, and, for the very first time, a very special countdown to mark the final few moments of 2014. There's also the chance to get your New Year messages and selfies onto the show via social media using the hashtag #BBCHogmanay. Hogmanay Live 2015 features fantastic entertainment, all the atmosphere from Edinburgh's legendary street party and the fabulous fireworks that light up the capital on the stroke of midnight. There's a great mix of new acts as well as traditional favourites lined up to get the party started wherever you are. In Glasgow, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain will add to the atmosphere as 2016 marks 30 years since their first musical collaboration. The Bay City Rollers bring a bit of shang-a-lang to the celebrations. The 70s rockers perform live on stage at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow. In Edinburgh, Scots rockers Biffy Clyro will be giving the year a big send-off as headliners of the concert in Princes Street Gardens. Turbo-charged supergroup Treacherous Orchestra will throw their unique energy into the mix from the Fruitmarket stage to keep the celebrations going, and over at the Ross Bandstand in Edinburgh, Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band will get the party started. And in Glasgow, there's a very special surprise guest lined up to get the nation rocking in the New Year. With music, of course, comes dancing, and in Edinburgh we will be joining the thousands of revellers expected on the streets to enjoy the capital's Hogmanay celebrations. On the Royal Mile, partygoers will be encouraged to join in the Old Town Ceilidh in an attempt to break the world record for the biggest Strip the Willow, last set in Edinburgh in 2000. Des Clarke is out and about in the crowds as they count down to The Bells, while Amy Irons reports live from the Stonehaven Fireballs Ceremony. Welcome in 2020 with the traditional piper high on the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle marking the midnight moment, followed by a fabulous firework display. There are some great pop tunes from Scottish bands Travis and Twin Atlantic, and alongside them, some high energy Scottish traditional music from award-winning band Elephant Sessions, joined by Julie Fowlis to lead the crowd in Auld Lang Syne - a great way to welcome in the New Year.
