After ten years Maria Guerra, captain of the Carabinieri, returns to her home town, a southern port city, to begin with her children Luce and Riccardo a serene life far from the bustle of the big city. To push her back, however, there is also the desire to shed light on the mysterious disappearance of her husband, a magistrate of the juvenile court. But the purposes of tranquility are immediately swept away by the investigation to which it is assigned: the city weighs the threat of a brutal attack that could endanger the lives of his children.
