Enjoyed every episode, can't wait for season 2 and hope there will be more than seven episodes.
Don't know why folk are dissing this,I think it's been superb so far.
If only he had bumped into Jeffrey Dahmer!
Incredible command of pacing, superb acting and insane chemistry. An abuse relationship hadn't been depicted so intensely in a lot of seasons. Top notch TV in the technical department as well, might easily be one of the best shows of 2022.
An absolute must of this season.
It is my opinion this show has so far got it right by ANNE RICE!!
An intelligent adaptation of the Anne Rice novels that manages to be faithful but at the same time update the story and its characters. It introduces interesting elements of reflection and builds much more complex characters, who are made credible by the splendid performances. The destructive and violent romanticism is shown without limits, and especially the appearance of the new Claudia is brutal and ironic. There is a dark sense of humor that accompanies an outstanding series.
The strike has killed production of season two. However, I do stand with the unions and the people they represent.
They are vampires, it is Anne Rice of course there is going to be an LGBTQI+ theme. Vampiric sensuality, passion and blood and seduction games are not subject to Sexual Orientations as such, that has been done practically forever.
My recommendations, forget about racism and the change of skin because this actor is one hundred percent Louis, it is his personality, the characters at the moment are completely Anne Rice; there are three chapters and there is still a lot of cooking ahead, but for now it is highly recommended,
Looks like a slow burn TV show. So far, I feel it's a good pace and hopefully will dive into the backstory of both characters. There is certainly chemistry between the two leads. I'm looking forward to the impending conflict between the master and his apprentice.
wow.... 10/10 fr
it's so hot, everyone's so hot... louis is amazingly beautiful... its so lush, delicious... a true delight. claudia not being like 5-8 years old iiiis a little weird. but not that much. in summary i loved it like 1000%
i love how much of a couple they are here compared to the much more closeted 1994 version haha. i love both versions sm tho T_T
my only complaint is for some reason i was under the impression 2 seasons were already out so i binge watched it and then that was it! devastating lol. i wanna watch it again now. I can't wait for season 2.
strong contestant for the horniest show ever made
Sexy vampire sexy.
Sexy vampire bad but still sexy.
Love the acting and Louisiana accents but I don’t think they are exploring the idea of loneliness and depression that comes with eternal life and power as well as it’s done in the book or Tom cruise movie. Maybe season two will be better.
Casting Claudia with an 18 year old is just stupid.
The fact that she looks like a child is the anchor of her entire story.
Making the melancholic Louis into a black person who was more brutal (being a pimp in the early 20th century we can assume he did more than was shown) in life than as a vampire was already weird - this change however breaks my heart.
Make her black, asian, whatever - but she has to be a child - otherwise the whole story has no point (which will probably be remedied by more crying about how unfair life as a black person in america is).
Why does every story have to be changed in existential ways these days?
It would probably have been better to leave this story be instead of making this.
Don't get me wrong, the show isn't plain bad - but calling it "Interview with the Vampire" and saying it is based on Anne Rice's novel is a stretch. Other than the name there aren't many simmilarites left.
These changes already preclude some of the storylines, showing a total disrespect towards the source material - it is just another one of these instances where they want to push a message to ppl who have no interest in it by using a successful IP.
7/10 if it was an original work, -6 points for the impunity makes a 1/10!
Why ain't release dates accurate?
For me it's to soon to say if this is going to be a good show.
The story starts well and in my opinion at a good pace.
For me is the actors, both Louis and Lestat are in my opinion a bit weak, maybe it's because in my mind I still have Pitt and Cruise in mind.
Anyway I'm giving it a chance and see where this goes, hope more will do too.
gonna watch this just to spite the angry white man in the comments who's upset about black people and gay shit being on tv
This was so snoozy and didn't feel like the original story AT ALL. 1/10
Loved the movie originally. Was looking forward to this -and the relationship. what's bothering me so much is the acting, and the weird way words are being pronounced to try and... Idk, seem "fancy". It's hard to get past. If it was once in a while, it might not bother me, but it's starting to be a problem. This feels like it wants to be Boardwalk Empire, and lacks the sophistication, and sometimes it feels like Deadwood? But can't. Interview with the vampire is here, somewhere. It's just kind of hard to find. The problem is that the writing, or maybe production or both is crushing the actors abilities to perform well. Idk. Something could definitely be good here. AMC makes good things - i wish this was better. Maybe it gets better after episode 1, but Idk if I can even make myself watch any more.
Biting more than pillows in this one.
Giving episode 2 a chance this will most likely be the end for. So so slow...... Effects are well done but only good to put someone to sleep

The movie, Interview with the Vampire, has always been a fav. After the first episode, I immediately nearly forgot the movie and fell in love with Anderson's Louis and Reid's Lestat. Everything about Rolin Jones' interpretation feels right. The era change, the age differences for Claudia, having Louis be Black. Top notch story-telling so far. Looking forward to following this story.
