Justin Lee Collins attempts to transform himself into a Ballroom Dancer. Its no mean task for a man who confesses he's got the equivalent of two left feet and a poor understanding of coordination. Justin will be whipped into shape by Strictly Come Dancing teacher, Karen Hardy to prepare him for his professional dance partner. He will up against world-class professionals in the San Francisco Dance Championships, but he still hopes to snatch a title.
Justin's mission is to compete in The Saltrock Open on the UK Pro Surf Tour competing against Russell Winter, Britain's top surfer. However, JLC has never surfed. Encouraged by the cheers of his knee-high son who is watching with Mum from the safety of the beach, training begins in earnest. He braves the surf of the Atlantic ocean with the instruction of surf pros, Chris and Carl from the Extreme Academy. Roughing it in a camper van, JLC hangs out with other surfers at a beach BBQ. Will the surf dudes accept this West Country novice? The only way is to prove himself out on the waves.
The journey starts in a pub in Bristol where Justin and his friends play a game of skittles. Justin then flies to Detroit to start a road trip across the US in a RV on a mission for bowling glory in Las Vegas.
There he meets his mentor, Carmen Salvino, and is kitted out with everything a pro-bowler needs. On the way, Justin takes part in a local blowing league in Denver, Colorado. It’s then back on the road to Las Vegas where Justin takes part in the Las Vegas Open at the Cashman Centre. How he fares is another story.
