was about to wait for 1st the season to end before I officially consider it an absolute gem, but I don't see how anything can possibly change my mind in the final two episodes
Season 1:
It has heart, solid comedy and in your face drama that pulls you out sometimes by it's absurdity.
7/10
Season 2:
This season is absolutely astounding. They fixed everything wrong with season 1 and made it a stagnating down to earth drama with the comedy woven in so wonderfully. It is crafted with such love and care, accompanied by the acting from everyone not to mention the visual style. It is amazing. It is just heartbreaking that they were cancelled after just 2 seasons right as it got it's footing. But honestly, this ending is still perfect in it's own way. I'm happy to leave this show here if I must. Because it was fantastic.
10/10
Overall: 8.5/10
This show is absolutely delightful. There's a vibe to it which I can't describe but I love it. There are some moments where you'll just pause it and laugh continuously. I really hope Showtime doesn't cancel it
Not what I was expecting at all...Jim Carrey is either a genius or certifiably insane...either way I'm hooked
This show is superb! Disagree with the mediocre reviews completely. I think the writing is clever, the topic of handling grief well handled. The interesting perspective of the Mr. Rogers-like character played by Carrey is so well done, I can overlook the lesser done acting of other cast. I watched this completely ignorant of its premise on a long flight, and found myself devouring every episode by landing. I'll just advise you that the plane version is HEAVILY EDITED, which annoyed me when I re-watched it at home. Get the 'adult' version, much better!
i liked the part with the misery
With a great capacity to deal with complex issues such as mourning, dementia or the manipulation of television, this is a great proposal that has the unmistakable stamp of Michel Gondry. It improves markedly in S2, with brilliant finds like the residence in which the elderly live a parallel reality. "Can you go back in time?" The ending closes a deep, emotional season, and a perfect conclusion to a wonderful show.
First season: absolutely great, loved it....
Second season: well, started out great, and than became quickly boring and insuperior to season one.... no third season for me....
This show is 100% worth watching. Funny, heartfelt, and emotional. Amazing performances all around.
The first season was okay, maybe a little better than just okay.
Season two though, in my opinion does not even deserve one star. Absolutely without any target, idea or usefull ideas.
Really bad series with no story, nothing has happened for the whole season. One of the worst serials I have ever seen.
WROT. Do you get it?

So, two episodes in, I give it a 'good but not great'. I am, however, cautiously optimistic. I think it really all depends on how far they're willing to go with the characters. For instance, I'll be disappointed if Mr. Pickles doesn't continue to spiral towards complete bats**t crazy and they decide to take a more wholesome approach to the story line. Jim Carrey is an amazing resource when tapped properly. The question whether they are able to do that or not with this character remains. The supporting cast is competent, but again, I hope they really let the reigns out on the characters and let this show get as darkly funny and dysfunctional as it can.
Long overdue edit
Things definitely went the way of my hopes in the above spoiler and so much more - including the wholesomeness. Season 1 finished up strong and now, six episodes into season 2, I continue to have my feelers hit in so many ways. So good.
