Boy I tell ya h-what, if simpering BDSM manservants with a degradation kink in love with and lorded over by megalomaniacal evil scientists is your thing, then this is your episode. It's not mine, but I do love this show for how bizarre it is and how it cuts far askew of the safe American mainstream. It's also got highly imaginative, prime late-'90s sci-fi aesthetic production design. And, despite the low budget, they did a phenomenal job with both the practical and special effects. The levitating isopods that they call "insects" really do look great, down to the internal organs, and during the floating sequence. I think it's composited CGI, but it could be rotoscoping? It's truly impressive how natural the transition from practical prop to floating animation is.
Super campy performances and bad dialog aside, they still maintain the weird, dark, spacey tone.
