The most transparent "twist" ever! The writing staff need to put more effort into it in the future... It's funny how the show acts if though this twist was actually hard to see from miles away.

God forbid our main character would have to make morally questionable choices that would impact him in a meaningful way. We can't have any of that. Let's instead resolve the conflict in a Disney manner.

For a guy who is supposedly super smart, Eddie is taking the worst approach possible with Brian. I mean, if Piper could figure out from 7 minutes with his parents that he has a strong moral code, Eddie should know that too. From the beginning, he should have appealed to the good he's trying to do and given a good reason for why he's keeping the enzyme to himself (after all, why shouldn't everyone be allowed to take NZT? There are literally no downsides unless you want an unfair advantage). But the moment he threatened Brian's father he fucked it up, because Brian will never trust him again and always look for ways to subvert him.
I'm glad they showed Brian find a different solution to the dilemma, I really don't want this to turn into the "being smart makes you a cold manipulator" trope. Understanding more connections and seeing more potential actions doesn't make you care less about other people, and the fact Eddie is basically a super-villain these days is because he was an uncaring bastard even before the NZT.
