The Goofy Gophers are almost as far down the list of my favorite Looney Tunes characters as Pepe LePew. But, the terrible two are drawn interestingly enough in this short that I don't despise them as much. They have a chubby look to them that is kind of neat. The antagonist dog that is trying to eat them is different, too. He's a high-society, bespectacled, reader sort who you'd think would have a chance against the rodent pair, but you'd be wrong.
The best thing about this cartoon is the amazing energy of the animation. Check out an early scene where the dog speeds toward the gophers, knife and fork in hand.
