1x09 THE DUMP

Good fun, if a little basic. The characters and voice acting really sell it, along with very high quality art style and animation. For some reason I found the schoolbus balanced on top of the trash pile to be a really nice touch. I would have liked to have known a bit more about Otto, but I'm not sure I would wish Pearly's demise on anyone! OUCH.

On a serious note, I actually like how trashy and dirty the animation looked for this segment. I enjoyed this quite a bit, but I had to question why the guy befriends the trash monster. Like, it just killed your friend.

I'd say this one was good not great story wise. Animation is pretty good though. There's a couple of things you miss if you don't watch it closely:

The roach acting like it's having sex with a small stuffed animal.
The bus balanced on a garbage heap.
The Chuck Norris poster.
I swear the bottle of beer he pulls out of the cooler is very similiar to a Sierra Nevada beer but using fake names.

The style works. The story is pretty basic since as soon as Otto is mentions you pretty much guess what it has to be and exactly how it's gonna end.

Meh.
I mean the animation was superb and the voice acting was good, but that's about it. I mean we could talk about the concept and all, but I am not sure if it's worth it.
It was really meh for me. Not totally bad, but nothing to really remember.

I'm sorry but no. I know this was gross on purpose but I do have my limits. If it had just been gross and well "ugly" for the sake of the story I could've dealt with it, but the story is also just not compelling or interesting. The main character is unlikeable (I know, I know probably on purpose as well), his connection to "Otto" is just because and the "twist" is neither shocking or well done (I mean it's hardly a twist). No an episode for me.
