This was much too similar to 1x01 "Pilot" (creative title, that) for my taste. I realize that there was no malicious A.I. in the first episode, but it still felt like rehashing a previous plot—not to mention the "A.I. goes rogue" trope is overdone in general. Plus, there were way too many bits, like the spark-spraying power cable, that simply don't work that way.
Even in MacGyver, there's an A.I. (named Sandy) that becomes evil. HAL 2000 (from 2001: A Space Odyssey) must've been an influence. I know MacGyver can outsmart this system.

Picked a random episode to watch and it happens to be one of the only episodes I can directly remember watching when I was young so fun there. The back end got a little silly and deus but it's a solid macgyver.
