[7.0/10] Hit or miss episode, but leans toward the positive. The overall theme of cultural appropriation was a bit of an odd one for 1994, but the show managed to wring some good humor out of it.

The opening Mr. Ed parody that gives the episode its name didn’t do much for me, but the “Mom and Pop Adult Video store” was a ribald if amusing setup. The giant ancestor telling his descendents about the importance of accepting the changing times was pretty funny in the context of their business, and the recurring “can I get some quarters” bit was a consistent laugh.

The R&B parody went on too long, but there were a lot of good gags from the “White People Co-Opting Black Culture Network” schtick. And I love love loved the “Rap: The Musical Skit” which took the squarest, least hip thing imaginable and used it to approach its exact opposite in popular culture, with brilliant execution. One of the show’s best little sketches so far.

Overall, some duds and some bits stretched too thin, but a lot of good laughs.
