Quite slow, uneventful and repetitive. Also, very predictable. I feel like this story would have worked better as a movie.
Iam wary of shows with AI as I don't like an AI winning over Human cough Skynet cough STUXNET!! .I wasn't expecting much from ''My Holo Love'' but the drama was quite a nice surprise. Even with his cliche plot, it is somewhat unique and different. And, to be frank, very addicting which makes it perfect for binge-watching!!!
First of all this was an exceptional technology series. It is really interesting to watch and had some amazing insight into how many people communicate or choose to communicate today. For me, this somewhat exposed how dependent people are on technology and how we often connect more with technology than we do with other people. Being lonely, creating your own world and friends is what society has become.
I like how fast paced the drama is, or at least the first half. When I watched the first two first episodes, I wasn't really into it but as I continued watching I began loving it. Each episode ends with a cliffhanger and it makes you want to watch more. I still wasn't the biggest fan of the last few episodes -- I admit to skipping some scenes but only because I was pushing to finish it in one night!! -- I think some things could have been resolved without getting too dramatic which could have prevented the drama dragging out too much. Well, 12 episodes are not too many and I think they would have been perfect for the drama if they focused more on some things and avoid others.
I wanted to see more romantic scenes between Nan Do and So Yun. Yeah, you probably think I'm a romance enthusiast and I watch dramas only for the romance, but no, it's not like that. But with a drama that has a mediocre plot, the romance should be there to save the day. I really loved Nan Do and So Yun's chemistry, as well as Holo and So Yun's. I'm glad that they made ''both'' main leads likeable even though they were completely opposite. I wanted to see more interactions between Nan Do and Holo too, I loved their conversations.
The acting was quite decent. I like Hyun Min and he did a good job with portraying two characters, but he can do better for sure. Go Sung Hee was amazing as Han So Yun, I believe this role perfectly suits her.
What I did not like about this series was the female leads behavior. Although the series was about artificial intelligence and I do know this is TV, I still found it quite strange that there were parts of this series where it seemed like the female lead cared more for a computer than another human. That just didn’t sit well with me and it just seemed irrational and weird. And when she switched to loving a human it felt forced and also i didn't understand why Nan Do fell in love just becuase it was first kiss ??
So overall, ''My Holo Love'' is a nice drama and I recommend it if you want to kill time. It's perfect for binge-watching as I already said, it's cliche but it's well-done -- with good CGI, decent acting, some cute romantic scenes and amazing OSTs.
I finished it through to the end. It was good, sweet and a good pace. The history of the characters came together well. The plot was consistent and the pace stayed true. If you’re into technology, robotics and artificial intelligence you’ll enjoy this. I am glad to I have overcome the AI syndrome to watch this !!
I ended up binge watching this in 2 days, and really enjoyed it. The chemistry between all of the actors was fantastic, and the use of tech to portray Holo was incredibly successful and fun to watch. My only drawback with this one was probably the progression of the plot. Once they showed Han So-yeon having a brief flashback of blood in the woods, and so early on, I was able to piece most of the twists together. I just wish they had taken more time to reveal that, or at least do it in a way where it didn't make the climax so predictable. But regardless, this is a great Kdrama to watch with newbies to the genre, very cute and overall heartwarming.
As someone who doesn't really watch K-Dramas, this was really easy to watch! Now it can be a bit boring or predictable at parts but in my opinion, the show altogether is worth it. The last episode made me completely change my mind on this show. So if you have some free time, you should watch this. Not that bad.
I always loved seeing Yoon Hyun Min play since Falling for Innocence, but in this show he plays 2 totally different characters which I totally loved! He’s one of the greater Korean actors of this era. Absolute legend. I really loved this show. Bingewatched it in a day. Congrats to all involved for making such a great story and one where the side characters are not overlooked since that happens frequently in Kdrama. A perfect mixture of love, friendship, excitement and a great message of realising that everyone is beautifully imperfect. Definitely a MUST WATCH!
