Ohne Filter (Without Filter) was a television program on SWF with international pop and rock groups. Each programme was about 45 to 60 minutes in front of an audience in a studio and was live and without sound correction. In technical terms, this broke new ground, because in contrast to the "Rockpalast" (WDR), for example, where larger halls (eg Grugahalle) were used, the location was deliberately smaller so that conventional studio technology could continue to be used. In late 1983, the SWF launched the programme and it quickly became one of the most popular German music television series. There have been around 300 broadcasts, including concerts by Chaka Khan, Joe Cocker and Deep Purple. Individual records are available at the SWR Media Shop.
