The fact that Tatiana Maslany hasn't been just handed an Emmy or Golden Globe already shows they know nothing about talent.
Orphan Black, whose third season begins this week, is the only show on television where you’ll hear this line: “Enjoy your oophorectomy!” The science-fiction series, which airs in the United States on BBC America, is filmed in Ontario and set, oh, somewhere nearby, right about now, in a world where doctors surgically remove the eggs from women’s bodies, freeze them, defrost them, and implant them in the uteruses of other women, or, sometimes, of the same women; sometimes they remove whole ovaries. It depends. The thing is: there are a lot of women. The show’s lush with them. It’s shocking.
Orphan Black stars the prodigiously talented twenty-nine-year-old Tatiana Maslany as a small population of clones. Maslany is the best thing about Orphan Black, with the writing a close second. As revealed in the show’s first two seasons, the characters played by Maslany are the product, or maybe it’s better to call them the progeny, of Project LEDA, a series of experiments conducted in a laboratory in the United Kingdom in the nineteen-eighties by a pair of geneticists named Susan and Ethan Duncan. Their work was illegal, and rather remarkably far ahead of the real-world cloning of Dolly the sheep, in Edinburgh, in 1996. (Over the past several decades, human cloning has been condemned or banned by more than a dozen American states, by many countries, and by the United Nations.) The clones the Duncans created in their laboratory were implanted, as fertilized eggs, into surrogate mothers, and grew up while under secret surveillance by “monitors” employed by the Dyad Institute, a sort of rogue genetics outfit lately headed by an evil clone named Rachel (Maslany), who was raised by the Duncans before their lab was destroyed in a fire that melted the floppy disks containing the genome sequence necessary to make more clones. That said, there’s room to hope that there are more clones still out there, and that Maslany will be able to try out a few more accents, hair styles, wardrobes, and postures. Really, she is breathtaking. Partly, that has to do with her versatility. But it also has to do with scarcity. There are very few good roles for women on television, and Maslany plays nine of them.

This is definitely one of my favorite TV Shows! Thrilling story, always exciting, many WOW moments that captivate you more and more and the acting of Tatiana is simply stunning. 50 episodes straight of pure enjoyment. And finally, the ending was beautiful. Definitely a must see show!

One of the best tv shows for sure. The acting is simply stunning. Tatiana is one of the greatest actors of our genefation. And of course the plot is amazing, it never gets boring and always gives you a satisfactory answer. How will we ever be able to replace its place?
This show was great, especially when we had Tatiana Maslany playing like 5 different characters in the same scene. However, this show doesn't do filler episodes very well but the finales are definitely something worth waiting for. This is a solid show
One of the best sci-fi I’ve ever seen, it spoiled me for clone stories forever. Tatiana Maslany is simply the best (Helena is my favourite!). While the plot gets really intricate in the last couple of seasons, it never loses sight of what makes OB so special: complex family relationships. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys strong female characters and well developed world-building.

Easily one of the best new television programs of the last five years. Interesting idea, fantastic writing, and exceptionally well acted. Having a single actress act what starts as five completely different characters and then grows with each new season is both demanding and amazing, this women has talent beyond measure. Its a must watch show.
The acting on this show is fantastic! The story line has dwindled down in the latest season, but they always find a way to pull me back in. I'm always amazed by how one actress can play various characters. And on top of that, it works perfectly with the rest of the cast.
I love this series. Straight from the start it is fun to watch, and most of all, it is interesting.
Something that is very noticable is that all the way back from episode 1 was the attempt to focus on setting a story that has not been seen before, and it is a success.
There a few small downsides, like it sometimes is too slow in pace or too fast, but all in all, it still remains my most recommended TV series.
I don't know. I really liked the first two seasons and I was eager to see where the story would lead. But after the cliffhanger at the end of the second I had a bad feeling. After watching the first episodes of season 3 it's exactly what I feared. They are putting in the usual cliches, the pace of the show is down. What started out promising is about to become just another atypical show. If this doesn't pick up fast I think I'll quit. Tatiana is great but her performance alone can't carry the show.
Although it only has two seasons it shows a lot of potential, it has great ideas that are well executed creating great moments. If you're looking for a science fiction, action, mystery series (60min) this is your best shot I think, even I liked it (I don't watch much science fiction stuff).

The show started kind of intriguing, but it gets better from episode to episode. It's a really catchy show, not to mention the acting, Tatiana did a super great job you care for every character she plays and forget she's just one person. Every actor is strong and believable, maybe just Felix it's too stereotypical. The finale is really solid and lets you wonder.
It has became one of my favorite shows, and I can't wait to see what comes next.

some plot twists you can see coming a mile away, but.... most of them really caught me off guard.

I'm on s2ep6 and I don't understand why some people gave it such bad reviews.. The show had to evolve in season 2, I think the direction is just as interesting. I started with s1ep1 yesturday and binged it. I read reviews before starting new shows I binge so anyone considering watching this show.. It Is Fucking Awesome! And I watch alot of tv.
Season 1 was very entertaining, a strong element of surprise with plot-twists throughout. Season 2 it all went to crap. Season 3 has that looming 'cancellation' feel. The episodes play on, but don't hold my attention like season 1. Many of the characters I'm not all that familiar with, and I don't care. Once great, now junk :-(
They should've made it a 1-season limited-event show, with a resolution but still open enough to allow future limited-event seasons.
Tatiana is out of this world.

I can't Believe i waited all this years to finally give it a chance. brilliant & amazing in every way possible.
I spent the beginning of this week binge-re-watching the first four seasons of this show in anticipation of it's fifth and last season. The whole series has been a solid 10 (best of the best) out of 10, for me, in no small part to the talent of Tatiana Maslany, who finally was awarded a long overdue 2016 Emmy for her work (and she was up against some pretty impressive talent). She didn't qualify for a nomination for the 2017 awards, because of the spacing between the 4th and 5th seasons, but I wouldn't be surprised if she doubles downs for last season, and the 2018 Emmys. She's not being overlooked any more! Fellow actors, reviewers, fans, and the industry are all touting her as the greatest actor of her generation. Although Tatiana anchors the show, she has given license to the creators and writers to create to a great diversity of clones, and depth of story - hats off to that team, as well as to the ensemble of actors that allow the storytelling to breath and fill out its world.. One of my favourite show of all time. Rooted in our Canadian acting, writing, producing, and geographic talent. Can't say enough about how good this is. I can't finish this review without mentioning how impressed I have been with how it has addressed a lot of the social issues of our day, by not characaturizing them but seemlessly integrating them into the whole experience of life - the characters are not reduced to one social characteristic, but are whole people trying to figure out life. Well done!
Season 3 is getting closer... Maybe its just me but Helena is my favorite
Season 1 was great. Season 2 was a flop -- they lost their plot twists and element of surprise that made the first season so entertaining. I'd be surprised if the ratings held this past a 3rd season. If rating by season, I'd give season 1 a 10 and season 2 a 1 :-(
I hope this means a season 3. I can't help but pull for all the clones.

the first few seasons were great and i loved it but it started to borderline on ridiculous
was happy season 5 was the last as I was already forcing myself to finish it by this stage
if you had asked me to rate the series after 1 or 2 seasons i would probably say 8, then after 3... drops to a 7 and now i think im at a 6 for teh whole show
Plurals and twins will love this show. Every gay boy in the world will identify with and/or want to fuck Felix. Every lesbian will have a crush on Tatiana Maslany in any role she plays. It's a great twist on classic horror, and an interesting look at what makes someone an individual. It got a little bit away from itself at the end, but the conclusion was satisfying enough. A little hard to rewatch, because I care so much about the characters and it's hard to watch them go through so much pain, which really means the writing and character development are excellent.
When into this series not really knowing what to expect and man it quickly became one of my all time favorites.
I know she's the same actor doing multiple characters but... WOW she is seriously good at it.

I just binge watched the entire show in a week. The script was often messy, but mostly alright. What made the show great was the acting. The obvious bond the entire cast had, everyone did a great job, and Tatiana Maslany was amazing.

I did think this serie was bad, but I did watch and I love it! Only thing I wanted was more action. sometimes The OB is like a soap opera.

I just can't believe they're ending the show!
This is a series that screams, "We were so inspired and got way too popular to keep the story running!" There is a genuine mystery and sense of wonder in the first season that the show takes a hard and fast turn away from after the initial biggest story line gets resolved. There's notes of Pushing Daisies or quirk of Wonderfalls when it started off much darker and with deeper intrigue. While Tatiana should be commended for her ability to make separate characters, the writers seem to turn some of them into parodies of themselves. Their behavior stops looking so much like individuals contributing to a larger world and more like an accent or outfit that shows up from time to time and begins to blend in. I think it just got confused or decided to be more ambitious without fully grasping what made it compelling in the first place. A shuffle game of "What's this clone up to?" is not the mystery of their origin or just how dramatically they may differ, and even then, when you switch from slowly letting that story unfold to ONE BIG REVEAL after another, I guess it just stopped feeling dangerous. It became about the gimmick of "how many roles can she play?" more than the story having any teeth.

Tatiana's acting is amazing, I can't deny that. The pilot had so much potential, but overall the show is a big mess and it quickly turns into something uninteresting and boring.

Tatiana is great (and hot!), but the show is like a definition to overrate. Other actors are poor and big picture is a mess.
Unfortunately, this show has became worse as time went on. Season 1 was mind blowing and amazing in so many ways, season 2 was bearable and wasn't so bad but season 3 is not as captivating as it used to be. Ever since they introduced the male characters, everything went downhill.
The show can get a little ridiculous at times, but it's well worth watching for the performance(s) of Tatiana Maslany alone.

I like this show, aroused how tatiana can do such a good job, so many different characters with such a quality. I Recommend to give a try normally i avoided this show i don't know why, but no regret just got addicted to it!

One of the most annoying shows I've ever seen. While the protagonist's acting is very good, but the other characters are pretty weak, the story (while the premise is interesting) is too "soapy", it feels like a show for teenagers. Then they have the most stereotypical gay guy you can imagine (I guess for comic relief) who makes Jar-Jar Binks looking like a deep and interesting character.
The premise and the main character deserved better. The writing is weak and the exectuion feels cheap. I gave up on it after 3 episodes.

Awesome started watching this show love how the different sides of the storys are going and how shes playing the clones.
