Outlander: Season 2

2x12 The Hail Mary

An episode of brothers, legacies, sacrifice, and deathbeds. As the two brothers face their certain death, the rest of the Jacobites hope Claire's fortune of their demise isn't quite as certain as it seems. This episode was great because of how Dougal seemingly hated his brother while he was alive but could only show his intense love and complex feelings once there was no one there to listen. On the other hand, Captain "Don't call me Johnny" Randall pummeled his deceased brother's body with the hate we knew he always had in his heart, despite what seemed like compassion while his brother was alive to watch.

A great episode. I'm looking forward to the finale.

A moving goodbye scene between the MacKenzie brothers, theough it is a pity that Claire aided Colum's suicide, maybe Dougal would have had time to say everything he wanted to his brother had he died naturally? It is nice to hear that at least Geilis's child survived. Also, since Mary's baby is really Alex's child, the baby would not inherit any of the Black Jack's sadistic tendencies.

Three things I feel like I want to say:
1. Murtagh is the absolute best and I love him with all my heart.
2. I find Mary terribly annoying for some reason.
3. None of the Jacobites have even the tiniest of brains. Every time Jamie gives them a solid opportunity, they’re just like: “Thanks, but no thanks. I’d rather die in a really stupid way.”
