That was one of the most interesting cold opens I've seen in quite a while. And I'm pretty sure that Jesse's solution to the Saint problem isn't going to be a permanent one.

I don't think Jesse and co are supposed to know the name Saint of killers, nobody told them that. And they go to look for info at the library, that was probably normal at the time of the comic, but seeing what they find, they just could have googled it.
Not sure betraying the deal with the Saint was a good idea. What did he have to lose by really sending him to heaven ?
