Pushing Daisies 2007

One of the most underrated TV shows in recent history. Pushing Daisies is quirky, fun, original, hilarious, fairytail'ish, with brilliant dialogue and a whole lot of innocence and heart. A MUST WATCH.

Excellent show! A very clever and original show. The story, characters, costume and set design, cinematography, narrator - and so much more- really pulls you into a fictional wonderland. It always seems these beautiful and unique shows come and go so quickly without many people taking notice. A rare gem that was canceled way too soon. Fans of this show might also enjoy Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me for television series, Amelie, the movie, is a wonderful comparison to the stylization of this show.

I love this show and will love it forever. The storytelling hits all the right spots, the imagery is sublime, the characters are adorable, Emerson Cod is my soulmate and if I do not give this a 10, it's because I'm a tough cookie who's a difficult rater. Also, season 2 was just a tiny less superior than season 1 but who cares?

Oh dear, how sweet is Lee Pace, really ? This show is so cute, it's like Amélie or any movie by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

This show was such a gem when I found it! So special and different, sweet and cleaver. A feelgood show that manage to handle tough issues like death without be moralizing. I wish it would return, or it could make a great movie. As long as we get Lee Pace as Ned.

Ned and Chuck are the cutest thing.

Mix Tim Burton, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Frank Capra and old fashioned storytelling and this is pretty close to what you get here. It is beautifully shot, has great coloring and the cutest romantic couple that has ever been on screen (and they never ever exchange one moment of bodily fluids - like a kiss!). Great supporting cast too with Chi McBride and Kristin Chenoweth as stand outs! It love the homages to old movies - especially Hitchcock and Michael Powell - and a lot of fun twists and turns that are done out of pure joy and wackiness. As all good original and enjoyable shows on network TV it got cancelled long before it's time. This would have gotten an internet reboot had it been cancelled only a few years later. Luckily, it has a form of ending / new beginning that is suitable for the show without being a downright cliffhanger. Still, I miss the piemaker and the girl named Chuck.

Absolutely delightful series full of clever, dark comedy reminiscent of Douglas Adams. Brilliant casting, outstanding writing, whimsical set design and costuming, and superb direction come together to create a weird and wonderful masterpiece, cancelled far too soon!

My favorite show ever. It's perfect from the whimsical storytelling and comedy to the character developments and plot. I really wish that it had continued on.

A Beautiful show, but cancelled too soon

The overall story is EXCELLENT. The unique idea of life and death and how one touch from Ned can bring someone back to life for only one minute or someone else dies, is wonderful! The fact that if he touches you again then you are DEAD FOREVER is frustrating for Ned and Chuck. This keeps their childlike romance alive in a sweeping romantic whirlwind. The OUTSTANDING storyboard/comics editing and STORYTELLING NARRATION gives this show a UNIQUE SENSE of FUN and PLAYFULNESS. Krysten Chenoweth steals the show.

Also, the series received critical acclaim and won numerous awards. The series received 17 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, with seven wins, including Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for Barry Sonnenfeld and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Kristin Chenoweth.

My Score: 8/10.

Loved Season 1, once I got into it, but I felt Season 2 was weaker.

Was great to see something different to the usual though!

Very interesting show and cast and a great twist on a procedural format. Didn’t age well for me though and I really don’t watch procedurals anymore.
