In the middle of the night, Alli wakes to find Izzy heading to an oak tree on the farm. Wondering why Izzy is talking to the tree, Alli touches her shoulder. Startled, Izzy gives out a roar, waking everyone on the farm. The next morning, Peter and Sarah bicker about the kids. Rocket explains they have to work out what is wrong with Izzy before Peter puts a definite stop to fostering. They investigate the oak on the farm, noticing it's leaking brown sap - it looks like it's crying. Wendy tells Rocket and Dibber not to discuss the tree with the Oldest Man. She tells them that last time there was a tree like this, he stayed up in its branches until an expert would treat it. Meanwhile, Jade uses W2TV to find Izzy by a stream. Seeing her writing more in her notebook, Rocket decides he needs to find out what it contains. He tries to look at her notebook but she catches him. Rocket tells her about the weeping oak, and Izzy explains that she thinks the tree is trying to talk to her but it is muffled. She also points out the words in her notebook are just a list of all of her favourite sounds. Rocket suddenly works out the cause of Izzy's strange behaviour. When Rocket arrives to explain what's wrong with Izzy, Alli interrupts, having seen Izzy attempting to pull down the weeping oak with the tractor. As Rocket tries to stop her, he nearly gets run over and Peter pulls her out of the seat. As he is about to tell Izzy off, Rocket interrupts, revealing Izzy is actually going deaf. Meanwhile, Peter tries to cheer up a glum Alli, with little success. Izzy notices a sketch Alli has been doing and asks why she doesn't do it for a job. Realising she loves art more than the idea of being a solicitor, she tells Sarah.
