Throw in a promotional monkey costume, some unrequited love and an olive oil-related health and safety disaster. Add into the mix a visit from Head Office and what have you got? Welcome to the neon-lit world of Shelfstackers and the endless shift of four teens on the bottom rung of the Grogan's Supermarket pecking order. Freedom from Grogan's finally beckons for Alyssa as she gets her big break - the chance to dance in a music video. What could mess this up?
Fitzy is horrified to learn that his mother is Roy's new girlfriend, but has an attack of conscience when he schemes to break up the happy couple. Dani is miffed when Dan fawns over Alyssa, so Alyssa sets out to teach Dani a lesson about the importance of appearances.
When Roy announces the shop needs a new team leader, Dan is quick to tell everyone that with her killer twin combo of cleverness and bossiness, Dani is a shoo-in for the job. But Roy soon puts a Grogan's twist on things: the righteous one must solve an impossible maths conundrum in order to claim the title. Everyone is shocked when the puzzle is mysteriously solved later that day but the Secret Solver refuses to come forward and claim their prize. Touched by Dan's faith in her and with her crush on him as strong as ever, Dani hears herself 'owning up', even though she knows it was secret brainbox Alyssa who couldn't resist solving the mathematical mystery. But Dani's calculations backfire when Grogan's head office decide to make her their maths whizz poster girl - will desperate Dani be able to pull off super smart?
When ex-boy band member Dave starts at Grogan's, the girls are instantly smitten with his chat of gigs, fame and his top forty classic Scorpio Nights. The boys however are slightly less enamoured, especially Dan who makes it his mission to try and undermine Dave at every turn. When his efforts fail, Dan's left reeling when he discovers Dave has intentions towards Dani. As Dani and Dave walk off for a 'Scorpio Night', Dan is left confused by his feelings. Is he jealous? Jealousy seems to be the theme of the day as Fitzy grows increasingly irritated by Yakiv, a Ukrainian boy who turned up on Roy's doorstep that morning and who Roy has assumed is his son. As Roy indulges the non-English speaking Yakiv in father and son bonding activities, Fitzy is in a race against time to learn Ukrainian and unmask Yakiv's true identity
Alyssa gets a taste of her own medicine when manipulative online gaming fiend Hunter comes to work at the store. Son of the owner, Hunter wants to prove to his dad that he is not a total waste of space, but soon works out that, with a little bit of flattery, Alyssa could prove to be the perfect assistant. Fitzy falls victim to the dreaded 'meatmares' after using the store's leftover stock to throw a carnivorous carnival of a meat party
Fitzy could finally have a chance to prove he isn't a total loser with the dawn of the legendary Grogylmpics, where Stackers will compete in events featuring: the shot pud, ten tin bowling, the ham throw and the nail-biting 100 metre trolley sprint.
