"Snatch" season 2 starts 6 months after the events in the final episode in the previous season. The gang arrive to the south of Spain only to have the money they stole be in turn stolen from them. We see them coming up on the shore half-drowned and settling in the town of San Toledo. Cut right to six month ahead of time it seems that our heroes have gone straight and put their crime days behind them. Albert, Charlie and Lotti are trying to go legit by opening a new bar, but hit some problems with the local administration. Hate 'Em is opting to become a southern chef along with his "apprentice" Fanta Limon (hilariously stereotypical pick for a name) and Vic and Lily are obviously bored and are looking for something to do in the beautiful town. Out of this boredom and Vic's criminal nature we actually get the plot for this season of the show. He and Harry go and get wasted in a bar in town and stumble upon a stash that they try to steal. It turns out that stash belongs to a corrupt chief of the police station who is not very fond of someone stealing his property and strikes back by kidnapping the girls The first three episodes seem quite entertaining as Albert is desperately trying to stay clean and Vic pulling in the opposite direction. We are getting a similar feel to the first seasons of "Burn Notice" as we again have a gang of likeable criminals acting in a sunny location. Also it is interesting to watch the different approaches Albert and Vic are using in order to get to the same end goal. While Vic is going guns blazing throughout the season, Albert is trying to be calm and methodical. We get a split with Vic and Billy looking through the town for the girls as the rest of the gang opts to work with the kidnappers. Lotti and Lily are also not the typical damsels as they manage to get a word to the rest of the Hills about a trap that is being set for them and ultimately escaping. We then get to a culmination at the mayor's house where it turns out that he is the criminal mastermind behind the events Unfortunately afterwards we get to the middle of the show where most of the stories are boring and we get a bit too much exposition. Everyone seems to have a separate arc that doesn't really interact with the rest. Billy has some sort of breakdown when he puts a fellow boxer in a coma. Vic and Lily are having some sort of falling out in their marriage. Albert becomes a mercenary for the mayor along with Ines, and starts some romantic relationship that kinda gets lost along all the stuff that is happening. Lotti and Charlie manage to find that the money were stolen by the mayor and are working on getting it back. Along the way, we also get a town clerk - Ramiro Ramirez (again great name by the way :) ) helping them There are still some extra characters that have little to no impact on the story here like the son and mother of the man Billy fought in the ring, some drug dealers that get 50 million worth of diamonds in the equation, Romanian (although they seem more like Bulgarian or Serbian) gangsters, an Interpol agent that has way more build-up than actually payoff... In the final three episodes we actually get a lot more interesting events happening as the Hills are trying to steal the diamonds from the mayor's goons, that in turn stole them from the Moroccan cartel. The heist was hilarious and actually got us back on track with the main story. Albert and Ines manage to escape the mayor's clutches while Vic and Lily deal with the Interpol agent with the help of Ramiro and Clarence and get their relationship working in the meantime. We have an episode in the Ines's uncle hunting lodge that again has a bit more talking than required and everyone wrapping their heads around the fact that Ines is a cop, but the season finale is awesome and what we expect from the show. We have the gang finally dealing with the mayor properly by creating a convoluted plan with a thousand moving pieces as we expect from the show, but in general the ending is quite appealing even though the last scenes seem a little sugar-coated and more fitting for either a show or a movie ending In general the season was not as interesting as the first one, but the episodes that were good, were really good and the songs in the episodes were right in their place emphasizing the story we are seeing
