"Stanley" was an American situation comedy starring Buddy Hackett (Stanley Peck), Carol Burnett, and the voice of Paul Lynde. "Stanley" aired on NBC-TV from September 24, 1956 to March 11, 1957 during the 1956–1957 television season. Max Liebman was the producer, he had previously produced Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows. "Stanley" revolved around the adventures of Stanley Peck (Hackett) as the operator of a newsstand in a posh New York City hotel. Burnett played his girlfriend, Celia, and Lynde voiced the hotel owner, Mr. Fenton, who never appeared on camera but could frequently be heard giving orders to his staff. Stanley was aired live and several episodes of the series preserved on kinescope film, are known to exist.

Of course the next day they both act so suspicious that Celia draws her own conclusion.

Tonight Stanley is made the star of the annual Hotel Sussex-Fenton "Follies". Stanley attempts to live up to the importance of his position - much to the distress of Celia and his other friends. He is brought back to earth sharply when another boy steals the show with his one song - although everyone agrees that Stanley, too, does a very good job.
