This is predictable down to every beat and even almost every line of dialogue, but it has enough emotional weight behind it to make it work. It's nice to get a character-focused episode that actually works with the journeys the characters have been on so far, and feels true to them rather than just whatever adventure happens to them this week but never really gives them any personal growth.

One glaring omission seemed to be the lack of Naomi Wildman who surely would have been very concerned about Seven. I particularly liked the effect of the cortical node removal/implanting, it looked great.

Seven is again awesome. She's damaged. She's vulnerable. She's angry. She is frustrated. She's passive aggressive. Well played by Ryan. The Borg kids story ends almost too abruptly. I would have liked to watch another story with Mezoti. I really liked here. Only Icheb remains aboard. But this story with Icheb and his sacrifice in favor of Seven is touching. You must like him. It's a quiet episode with much talk. A few dramatic scenes aside, not much happens but I like it. It's a nice thing that Icheb has chosen Seven as his godmother (and vice versa) after he was betrayed by his cruel real parents. In Picard Icheb returns and reunites with Seven but I'd rather not talk about what happens to Icheb in Picard. It's a shame.

PS: it's absurd they can built a new Delta Flyer just like that.

Manu Intiraymi and Jeri Ryan did a pretty good job in this episode. Manu happened to be the highlight in my opinion.

Again it's a character driven episode that stands out. All of this really feels genuine and the chemistry between Manu and Jeri gives it the emotional connection it needs.

The appearance of those aliens at the debris field was totally dope. Just artifical suspense this episode didn't need.

Shutting down two alcoves to conserve energy but we already have a brand-spanking new Delta Flyer? sigh

I must say, Icheb was written quite well and the actor did a great job showing it. Seven was great too.

This was my first time seeing this episode, and it played truer than the other Borg shenanigans. I guess the teleplay didn't leave room for Naomi, which is a shame, but I guess Seven's dance card was already full.

Amusingly, one could infer by the end that George Bush doesn't care about Black people Seven actually wasn't that affected by sending the little Borglets off to cyborg foster care.
