I'm sure this is a great episode for people it's aimed at so I have to give it to them for that. For me, an older guy, it's not for me and I can't be sad about that because it's a cartoon.
The Prince actually made Jar Jar not the worst character in the show so that's a plus. It was visually very impressive and a step up.
I just felt like I was watching a sci-fi sponge bob show and didn't care for anyone. I was just waiting for it to be over. I hope this story is over.. please.

6.1/10. Well, while the last episode did well despite being little more than a collection of action set pieces (mostly because those set pieces were pretty cool), this one suffered for essentially the same reason. I'm not sure if it's just a case of diminishing returns, where you can't keep showing the same basic aqua combat, even with twists like vortexes and such, and expect it to have the same effect after an entire episode of the same essential thing. What's more, it seemed like the aesthetics of the episode were much murkier than in the last one, which is fine to try to convey a certain graver tone, but also made the action much harder to follow. At the same time, the editing was a weakness here, as it was hard to keep the battles straight and keep track of who was fighting whom and when and where.
That said, there were a few bright spots. The Gungan cavalry was a nice moment, even if it subjected us to more Jar Jar, and Lee-Char's Moses routine was nice, even if the whole "symbol of hope" thing is a little facile. It's still a kids' show after all. I'm pretty tired of shark guy already, though, since he's a generic baddie without much beyond the usual roars and Separatist Lieutenant credentials. Hopefully the next episode (finale of this arc?) will have a little more excitement as everyone (presumably) escapes from capture.
