This show is getting less and less about actual lawyering and more about the "family drama". So much fanservice moments where things are done or shown just to please the audience, not for good storytelling/building.
I have watched and loved the show from the beginning. That said, I really disliked Rachel. I wasn't sure how the show was going to handle Mike's departure. I love it!
I'm glad Rachel is gone! I hate that Mike left with her. Since Robert has joined the firm, this season has went down hill. If I don't see some better episodes in season 9, then I'm done. It was good while it lasted.
Certainly my least favorite season of the series thus far, it just feels like its trying to hold on but the loss of Mike and Rachel is felt even more than I expected and the new season regulars largely can't fill the hole left by those two leaving. The exception being Katrina, who has been around the longest as a side character and I really love her. Alex and Samantha are ok. Mike and Rachel weren't necessarily my favorite characters in the show (that title still belongs to Louis), but the show was driven by Mike for so long and I find myself missing him a ton, and I think the show struggles without him. This season is just painfully forgettable and almost nothing grabbed my attention or peaked my interest. The finale was probably the strongest aspect. The conflict was perhaps the biggest we've seen since Mike was on trial, and Zane has a great character arc that ends on a very bittersweet note that I actually really enjoyed. But it is also a conflict that got resolved pretty quickly, yet again. Season 5's arc with Mike on trial remains the only major story arc that they spent proper time on, really. But, as I've said before, when you invest enough time into a show and its characters you're going to automatically be invested and entertained no matter what, and that remains true here for the most part.
5.8/10 -- Decent
Katherine Heigl is the greatest thing to ever happen to the season. Samantha and Robert have the best scenes/dynamic.
7,375/10 (=) - my personal rate for Suits, season 8
Watching more as an obligation as the show is so close to ending. Lewis is great, but over Donna be this arrogant all-knowing character. Characters like Alex, just aren't interesting and there's so little lawyering. Also, what's with all the F words? It went from 0 to 1 an ep to 3 an episode. Shows the lack of quality in the writing.
I hope this series will never come to en end.

Honestly, I felt like this was their weakest season.
