wow this is an INSANE episode loved it
Poor Magda, she deserved happiness.
Carrie anyone? Overall, this was still a good episode and a nice take on the underlying King theme.
This was a great episode I wish for more episodes like this!!! but the ending was so sad and I'm always just asking why can't god actually do something and fix this or bring them back to life or even the rest of sam and deans family...heck god didn't even bring Mary back Amara did...cmon god bring them all back and just fix a few things before leaving...I get he's not as wise or idk holy everyone thinks he is he's just this old being that created something he didn't fully get I feel but cmon leaving and not doing anything but always watching is lame lol...just use your powers for once that's all...if they just made him do that more I'd be happy but I get it then there wouldn't be a show if he could fix everything but just bring a few people back idk or at least explain why he doesn't or show us him helping them into heaven...something like where did he and Amara even go...(bet they will be gone for a long time though and the actors may never come back :/ )
This episode felt like one from the (better) early seasons. If only they tried to recapture that dark atmosphere more often.
That ending made me so angry >:( fun, creepy episode though.
That's my show! what an amazing, creepy, emotional and disturbing episode. It was good, except that ending. It like an episode from season 2. very Kripke-like. That creepy beginning gave me the jeebes. i liked that it didn't start with the "hey, i've found a case".
Was it me or were the boys' roles reversed? Dean was totally wrote off. It can be understood given the Mary situation, but he disappearing for the last half of the episode, wtf? He knew that they let Magda die and he is suprisingly OK with it, he even says they are good people. Dean would never do that. And then Sam acted as Dean saying "God didn't kill her, you did". I get this is a difficult time for him, I mean heartbreak's a bitch, but Dean was totally wrote off, although on purpose. At the end of the episode I was just waiting for him to appear, like he always does, but he didn't. it was like their roles were reversed this week, maybe because being who Dean really is reminds him of Mary? He disliking rock music, being wrong in a case, not turning up at the farm when he knew Sam was in trouble, all those are things Dean will never do. I mean, the fact that he doesn't like Vince and that Sam does could emphasise the differnt tastes in music, but all in all, it was weird. Maybe Vince is a crappy rock star after all. I liked cranky Dean, but not this way. He knew this was gonna happen since the very beginning but he doesn't deserve this. He's always taken care of his family and asked for nothing in return. And now Mary's gone again, right in the face.
The family's acting was spot on, especially Magda and her mother. The ending however was so sad but, what the he'll, they let a psykid go that easy? She killed people, she's been idk, 4-5 years locked up, tortured and they let her go just like that? I thought she was gonna kill someone at the end, I didn't expect Mr Ketch to kill her.
Anyways, pretty decent episode. Let's see how it all is handled with the Mary subplot.
Woman: "Do you know God?"
Dean: "God, who do you mean? The Bible guy? That you mean? He kinda goes by Chuck, he likes bacon, sings old crappy folk songs, takes really long showers, writes, like a lot, about our lives and I told him to cool it three times. Ah, I almost forgot, he's an alcoholic and watches porn in one sitting. Plus, he once had anger management problems with his sister and locked her away with the archangels' help. Now he's on vacation. And yeah, 'til this day, he's not explained Sam why ears looks so strange. Why? Why'd you ask?"
Sam: (trying to stop Dean from telling all of this, but failing at. Looking at Dean) "It's true, he never explained the bit about ears". (Sam looks back at the couple feeling confused and suddenly burst into laugh) "God? No, no, of course we don't know God. I mean, not in person. Dean's just, he's a joker. He likes jokes". (Sam looks uncomfortable weird but Dean is fine, and ask for another slice of pie).

This felt like a throwback to the good old Monster of the Week days, where they really get into the case and make a difference in people's lives. It was kinda reminiscent of the hell hound and bella talbot era - sufficiently dark and ominous to really get the blood pumping but not so much that you're curled up on the couch scared one of the boys is going to die.
It brought back a lot of mystery to the show where the boys don't know ahead of time what they're hunting, they're just looking to solve the case. Really goes to show that sometimes the worst monsters can be human too.
