Damn! Even after 12+ season they know how to bang on those heart strings. Even a roughnecking thundercat would have a skooch tear in the freaking eye. Brilliant!

Wow I loved the parts with Billie! Even though it was just a conversation between her and Dean I was hanging onto every word that was said and I'm so excited to see what 'work' she was referring to. She was so adamant that when the boys died next they were to stay dead so to see her tell Dean to keep on living it must be important. I also want to see more of her reading room and all of the times they died and came back

I love when episodes start off MOTW but then that gets resolved quickly and it turns into an almost surprise episode that sets up the larger narrative arc. I'm thinking back to Thin Lizzie in season 11 (which was also episode 5) which I really enjoyed for the same reason.

And at the end when Sam is asking what happened when Dean was dead, I was shaking my head disappointed when it seemed that Dean wasn't going to tell, but when he explained it all I sighed with relief.

It was a really good episode that had a little bit of everything that makes the show.

The first half of the episode was fairly average but then when Dean pierced the veil and Billie turned up, it got a lot more interesting. Currently wondering whether, when Billie was talking through Dean's Death Shelf (lol) and she mentioned being "burnt by a red-haired witch", whether this was something that had already happened on the show and I've forgotten, or whether it was alluding to the fact that Rowena is still alive... Hope it's the latter.

Hmmm i wonder what's with all the "12 Monkeys" (tv show after the movie) references. The mask AND Shawn's mother are both from 12 Monkeys. Its got to be intended. We could have had just one reference not both. Billie's return...hate it. A bad actress with no emotional skills...i would have preferred something more complicated and not on the nose... next reaper to die becomes death...weak sauce. The show makes me wonder...why a nephilem can be stronger than what was created by god. It makes you wonder what can a child of 2 archangels can do

The most hard to believe thing about this episode wasn't the ghosts, but the teenagers handling video cameras in 2018, instead of their mobile phones. Also, of course the Winchesters would leave town by bright daylight to arrive at the nasty doctor's haunted house late at night... Did they cross the USA to get there?!

Joking aside, I was absolutely loving this episode during its first half: everything was classic Supernatural, with just the right amount of creepiness, h(a)unting and bromance! Then Billie came into scene and everything turned into a bore-fest, switching to the stale soap-opera this show has turned into. Meh.

But, hey, at least Cass is back!... Or is he? :>

What I like the most is how they found a way to bring back Castiel in a way that made sense, wasn't cliche, and maintains (relatively) continuity, and isn't too bs regarding unused repeatability.

But, with Sam and Dean... apparently Billie just declared them invulnerable, so...
