This season is kinda odd. There's nothing that I particularly "like" about this cast, but there is another nothing to "dislike". This may be an editing issue, maybe the theme of the season was a let down, but it felt like a general cast of "good", nothing more and nothing less. Ben made tribal councils a bunch of fun with his antics and idols, yet was a rather awful player (as someone that appreciates strategy, it pains me to see him have such an awful post merge strategy). Chrissy was a comp beast (4 idols representing moms across the world). Ryan was a social player that was relatively strategic. Devon was a bit of everything. Yet, I had a hard time considering any of them winner worthy. Maybe it was the tv edit that didn't allow Chrissy to shine enough, but she likely should have been the winner. She was in the majority alliance, and won competitions, yet in the last two seasons (33 and 34) we saw the comp beasts also lose. Albeit, in both of those seasons they weren't incredible social/likable. Not to mention, I don't want to call a Survivor season rigged, but it was incredibly coincidental that the first season the Final Four fire making competition is introduced is the first year the "exciting" player of the season was a sure out at four. Without the "twist" Chrissy almost definitely wins.
At this point I am just rambling, so I will wrap it up. Moral of the story, if this is "bad" then it once again shows how great Survivor is. This was still really enjoyable episode after episode for one reason or another, even if SOMETHING feels like the end game flopped. If you enjoy the strategy aspect of Survivor, this is definitely a season that will be forgettable.
