Sarah is still considering her options and has not yet told Tony about her pregnancy. Joanna is enjoying the comforts of the hotel and the attentions of the menfolk of Glendarroch.
Tony, overjoyed at the thought of fathering Sarah’s baby, proclaims his love for her to the entire village. Ewan encourages Lachie to get out and about. Lafferty and Sneddon make their moves on Joanna.
Sneddon’s pursuit of Joanna draws a jealous reaction from Sheila, but his efforts only succeed in pushing Joanna into Lafferty’s arms. Chic is devastated to discovers that Lachie’s new woman friend is none other than his lost love Lily.
Sheila gets the wrong end of the stick when she sees Sneddon and Joanna together. Joanna and Lafferty’s relationship heats up and so does the village gossip. Chic comforts Lachie and Lilly. Effie goes into training.
Word gets around that Joanna has been sleeping with Lafferty. Tony flies of the handle when he finds an abortion leaflet in Sarah’s bag and confronts Dr Clark. Mairi arrives back in town, shocking everyone by acting out of character when she hears about Lachie and Lilly.
Joanna is feeling low, and Sneddon makes his move on her while Lafferty is away. Sheila is upset to see Joanna and Sneddon together. Ewan, Sally, Lafferty, Chic, Effie and Mrs Mack set off on the West Highland Way.
Sheila decides to make amends with Sneddon. Lafferty opens up to Sally about his feelings towards Joanna. Lachie suspects that Mairi has met someone else in France. Tony confides in Dr Clark about Siobhan and the abortion.
Joanna succumbs to Sneddon’s advances in a moment of weakness. Lachie confesses to Tom that he wants Mairi back. The final day of the walk arrives, and the walkers celebrate with a barbecue in Fort William.
Lafferty tries to take up where he left off with Joanna and is hurt and confused when she rebuffs him. Lachie sets out to woo Mairi again after realising he loves her. A young Irishman arrives in Glendarroch and takes Sally’s fancy, but she is suspicious of his reasons for being there.
Lafferty declares his love for Joanna and is heartbroken when she tells him she’s going back to Edinburgh. Lachie connives to get Mairi alone, with help from Tom and Morag. Niall appears to be taking a close interest in Robbie and Sheila, and Sally grows more suspicious. Effie receives a postcard from the man she almost kissed, saying that he is coming to visit. Sheila tells Sneddon to stay away from Joanna, but he gets annoyed.
Lachie is devastated following Mairi’s rejection but, with support from Tom and Morag, he finds his way back into her heart. Ewan's uncle comes to visit Effie, and tries to seduce her, but she is uncomfortable with it. Niall confesses to Sally that he did not arrive in Glendarroch by accident, and that he is searching for his father. Effie tells Jockie about what happened, and he goes to confront Robert.
Mairi moves back in with Lachie, and Tom and Morag are delighted when they hear that they plan to get married. Sheila invites Niall for lunch but they are forced to call Dr Clark when Robbie is taken ill. Effie and Jockie have a huge fight, and tell each other they don't want to live together, so they are ignoring each other in the house. Morag wants to join in and help plan Mairi's wedding.
Jockie and Effie are still being nasty to each other, and he tells Sarah he doesn't want her near Sadie which angers her. Tom asks Lachie to make sure getting married is what he wants. Chic gets Lafferty a new bike. The women of the village attend Mairi’s hen party in the Ardnacraig. Sally confronts Niall about Sneddon and persuades him to stay in Glendarroch. Lachie is determined to have a quiet stag party, but Chic has other plans.
It’s the day of Mairi’s wedding and despite the best-laid plans, things do not run smoothly. Mairi has to round up the pigs in her wedding dress after they run loose around the yard, and ends up getting a lift on the back of Lafferty's bike after Chic's car breaks down. However a special guest makes Mairi’s day. With Sally’s prompting, Sheila makes the connection between Niall and Sneddon. Meanwhile, Mr Spinetti is back and has big plans that could change Glendarroch forever.
