I liked season 1 but so far this season is failing on pretty much every level. There are a few slightly amusing moments but I’m getting bored watching it which is a taskmaster first for me (I've watched all of the UK and NZ series). Will Anderson mentioned that he was being paid the same as everyone else despite their experience. I’m guessing they don't get paid a huge amount but the time commitment probably isn't as much as it seems. If they record all the tasks in one shooting period that might be a couple of weeks work. Then they’d come back to do the studio presentation which I’m guessing is done in a few days. They probably have to book popular comedians well in advance to ensure they have the free time so that possibly limits the possibilities a lot.
I could imagine a lot of people who would be good on the show if interested and available. Josh Thomas seems popular enough but certainly isn't someone I’d think of for a show like this. I’m not very familiar with Jenny’s comedy but at least she's enthusiastic. She doesn't seem like the type to come up with spontaneously funny things to say. Anne is ok but her phlegmatic personality doesn't seem like a good fit. When do people give up on tasks so easily? Why not just think of a quicker way to do it? Lloyd is vaguely amusing but not outright funny. Will is the only one that’s got the right sense of humour and personality but the chemistry of the whole group is off so its not enough.
