Blade tells the Space Knights the story of how he became involved with the Venomoid. His real name is Nick and his family was aboard the deep-space research vessel "Argos" when it encountered a strange alien craft near the rings of Saturn. Thrilled at the prospect of an encounter with extraterrestrials, they boarded the vessel, only to be attacked by frightening creatures called Teknopods, which like the Terran plant called the Venus Fly Trap, swallowed them whole.
