Sara at the beginning of the episode giving us a sneak peak of The Alienist spin-off, The Alienist: The Hasty and the Enraged.
The Alienist was one of very few shows that actually surprised me in a positive way. And one where I was very much looking forward to the next season. That does mean, though, that I now have certain expectations. First episode was really good. The mood from season one was there from the first minute. They re-introduce the characters and start the story. If you have difficulties with seeing the bodies of dead infants be warned. Very much looking forward for the next episodes.
Oof I really did hope that this "evolution" of the Sara character would not happen - but you know it's 2020! You cannot not have this theme pushed down your throat in every franchise imaginable. And it' so annoyingly obvious you have to cringe so hard. Best moment for me was Sara not taking Johns hand he was lending to help her step into the carriage. Come on this is so ridiculously bad. So the moment I decided I'm done with the series I skipped to the last few minutes of the final episode to see who the killer was and surprise surprise it ended with a monologue of Sara speaking about youknowwhat. This makes it VERY easy for me for leaving this series. This, killing infants and displaying their dead bodies in the most horrible and disgusting ways possible I'd almost had to vomit. There are enough incredibly bad things done to children in the real world - I absolutely don't need and want this in my fictional entertainment program to chill out the day. And I am a big fan of Daniel Brühl.
Great start of season 2.Grim script, gorgeous set design and great acting
Liked everything besides Sara’s over the top introduction.Much more use of CGI now that they’re showing more of the 1800’s New York City.
