We travel to different parts of the country; first, Diavolo, a Los Angeles-based troupe wows us with “architecture in motion”, which performs acrobatic and modern dance movement set on a variety of oversized kinetic structures. Then, The Tattooed Ballerinas, whose roots are in site-specific dance create an on the spot performance within an abandoned Miami church. And in Austin, China Smith fills a void in the neighborhood she grew up in and teaches her students a unique fusion of ballet, modern and African movement.
