I thought this was just gonna be a silly, fun drama about superpowers, but it ended up being so much more than that.
It was about family, the one we're born into and the one we choose. About friendship, and how relationships are unpredictable in how they'll unfold. About how grief, depresion, isolation and trauma can feel like weights tying us down to those dark places, and also about the arduous task of overcoming that darkness and how important love and support is on that journey.
Letting go of expectations and preconceived notions will makes us lighter, letting go of guilt and grief will allow us to look back on painful memories and see the beauty in them, taking a chance on someone could be the key to discovering a whole new world we never knew existed.
Honestly, I don't know what the heck was going on with Jang Ki Yong's hair, and this was a fun and silly drama about superpowers, but the emotional aspect and the way all the characters had their own growth-arcs and individual paths to happiness was the best part. It wasn't so much about the destination, but the journey. Enjoy the ride, and by the end, you'll have a smile on your face.
An Un-ordinary show with Un-explainable emotions
The twist at the end saved the drama but it always felt pointless that they both didn't jump together in fire but it would have made the ending ordinary which this isn't . I feel there were lot of what seemed like stupid plot points actually turned out to be great ; so that makes the show neutral watchable especially if you were watching it weekly when aired as initially there were so many frustrating moments that a Super Power Family can be swindled together but as the Family gets its cure from Do Da-Hae ; she get to shed from old family to the new and in-turn bring in change in the swindler family as well which make the show really thoughtful and entertaining in the end!!
I will really need to rewatch and binge it after a while to fully understand it again ... but i felt Jang Ki-young acting bit lacking ; its not just his character but his mute styles hasn't changed much over the years

That was why they focused on the flowers and the ice cream!!! I knew there was something odd about those scenes! What most assumed to be fillers, are actually not. A good writer will never create a scene that has nothing to do with anything.
The ML bringing back flowers and ice cream from the present to the past was a clue to what their first child's power is… the reverse of her father's. His power is to bring something from the past to the present.
It also completes the theme that the FL's past is the ML's future and the ML's future is the FL's past. Her past is what will save the ML's family and his life. And the ML's future is what will save the FL in the past.
That is their child.
Their union saved both the ML and the FL.
Their child represents the FL's past. That past is the fire, not her past when she was in high school, but her past when the ML disappeared. Meanwhile, their son also represents the ML's future. That future is the time jump. It was the only way for him to survive Ina's school fire.
At the same time, their child's power will not exist if the ML did not learn how to control and evolve his own power. And it was only possible because of the FL. Because of it, he passed down a “reverse” version of his power to their son.
