When Eric begins to waver about signing the documents, Carter sends Ridge an urgent message of warning. Maya is looking forward to soon being able to flaunt her relationship with Rick and take her rightful place in the hierarchy of Forrester Creations. Caroline gets the shock of her life when Maya makes an unexpected appearance during a company meeting.
Shock and disappointment are only some of the reactions to Rick’s unexpected announcement during the Forrester staff meeting. Rick explains to a blindsided Caroline his vision of where their respective futures are heading. Having heard about Rick’s deception, Ivy regrets not telling Caroline about Rick and Maya sooner. Ivy has a warning for Maya about Rick’s devious behavior.
Despite Rick having conned her and his family for weeks, Caroline expresses her love for him and her willingness to do whatever it takes to rebuild their marriage. Having already stolen her nemesis’ husband, Maya attempts to take something else of value from Caroline. Eric and Ridge have Carter review the documents to see if there are any loopholes that could possibly nullify the contract. Ridge is disheartened at how easily Eric is to justify and enable Rick’s tyrannical actions.
Eric feels remorseful about what transpired thinking that he caused Rick’s behavior by issuing him an ultimatum to reunite with Caroline. Maya asserts her newfound power within the Forrester family by relocating Ivy and Aly for the evening. Caroline makes an emotional plea to Rick for them to work on repairing their marriage. Much to the dismay of many, Eric goes out of town and leaves Forrester Creations in the hands of Rick.
Aly, Ivy and Pam are in complete disbelief when they arrive at the Forrester mansion and see the extravagant gift that Rick has given to Maya. Having been displaced due to the downfall of her marriage, Caroline finds comfort and refuge with Liam. In response to his family’s outrage, Rick justifies his motivation for the abrupt renovation to Eric’s living room during his absence. Rick has an ulterior motive when he invites Caroline to the house to discuss their relationship.
Rick cuts right into Caroline’s heart when he tells her that his gift to Maya is a reminder that there is still someone who is loyal to him. Caroline calls Rick out on what she thinks is the real reason why he is in a relationship with Maya. Now having visible proof, Maya gloats to Caroline about being the woman in Rick’s life. Ivy and Liam confront a defensive Rick about his recent actions and give their opinion regarding the root of his behavior.
Everyone, but Rick, seems to know the true reason for his offensive behavior and why he is flaunting his scandalous relationship with Maya. Caroline and Maya go head-to-head over which woman loves Rick more and which will end up with him in the end. Maya vows that she will prove to everyone that she is worthy of being a member of the Forrester family. Despite Carter’s warning to mind his own business, Ridge is determined to get through to Rick about his poor treatment of Caroline.
Rick senses that Ridge is issuing an unspoken threat to steal Caroline while doling out relationship advice. Unwilling to listen to a man with such a poor track record with women, Rick rehashes all of the broken hearts that Ridge was responsible for throughout the years. Maya is furious when Carter refers to her current role in Rick’s life as a rebound relationship and questions whether or not her feelings are reciprocated. Ivy and Aly are curious as to Caroline’s true feelings as she discusses her recent situation with Rick and Ridge.
Rick is put on the spot when Maya asks him if he truly loves her or if he is using her to get back at Caroline. Feeling vulnerable and apprehensive, Maya threatens to leave if Rick doesn’t give her a straight answer to her reasonable question. Regardless of her unwavering desire to reunite with Rick, Ridge advises Caroline against fighting a losing battle. Caroline unexpectedly stumbles upon heartbreaking evidence that proves that Ridge’s words are valid.
Ridge points out to Caroline that there are no more reasons why they can’t pursue a relationship together. Caroline explains to Ridge that she needs time to decide what or who she really wants in her life. Ivy and Aly connect through their family’s history and share some laughs at Rick and Maya’s expense. Having reached a new crossroad in their relationship, Rick and Maya spend a romantic evening between the sheets.
Carter is still reluctant to believe Maya’s relationship is genuine when she gloats to him about the night that she and Rick shared. Ivy issues Rick a warning to reexamine his feelings for Caroline before he does something irreparable and loses her for good. Caroline worries about retribution from Rick when he learns about her and Ridge’s new arrangement. Having overexerted his position of power during a staff meeting, Caroline and Ivy give Rick a piece of their mind. After hearing about Rick’s tyranny at the office from many, Liam sets out to have a talk with him to discuss proper treatment of others.
Bill and Katie discuss what might happen when Brooke returns to Los Angeles and finds out what’s been going on in her absence. Liam forcefully informs Rick that he will not continue to tolerate Ivy and Caroline being treated so poorly. Knowing what Rick has been putting Caroline through lately, Bill vows to fix the unfortunate situation in his niece’s life.
Brooke returns from Italy and pays a visit to Deacon to discuss Hope and to catch up on what’s been going on since she left. Maya is ready to celebrate when Rick informs her that he had divorce papers drawn up for Caroline to sign. Ridge becomes angered when Caroline fills him in on Rick’s earlier behavior towards her and Ivy. Brooke and Quinn do not see eye-to-eye regarding the way Hope is treating Wyatt. Liam and Ivy take their relationship to the next level.

When word gets out about Rick’s tyrannical behavior at Forrester Creations, Bill and Liam discuss the great need for Rick to be knocked off of his high horse. Due to his most recent antics, Ridge and Caroline threaten Rick with legal action if he does not step down from his position as CEO. Knowing the battle that has been transpiring within the company, Brooke attempts to play mediator between Rick and Ridge.
Ridge and Caroline are disappointed when Brooke defends Rick’s actions and instructs them to respect his position of authority. Caroline gets the opportunity to tell Brooke her side of the story concerning Rick. Bill and Liam conspire about the best way to exact revenge upon Rick for his poor treatment of Caroline, Ivy and the employees at Forrester Creations. Liam reaches out to the one person who he thinks would be able to assist him in his plan against Rick.
Brooke shocks everyone in the room when she demands that Rick forgive Caroline so that they may piece their marriage back together. Bill tells Katie about his visit with Brooke and makes his intentions regarding the direction of his future very clear. The bond between Liam and Steffy resurfaces as they discuss the possibility of her assisting him with his plan against Rick. Maya confronts Brooke about the hostility that she is feeling from her.
Brooke voices her disapproval about Caroline’s relationship with Ridge and informs her about the one thing that will always be an obstacle for them. Caroline is caught off guard when Brooke asks how far her relationship with Ridge has gotten. Upon his return to work, Wyatt is met with the wrath of Rick who gives him a difficult time for unexcused absence from the company. Having heard about Wyatt’s encounter at Forrester Creations, Liam and Bill include him in their plan to teach Rick a lesson. Caroline worries that Steffy’s presence could cause a problem for her and Ridge’s attempt to be together.
Excited to share his new passion, which she inspired, Ridge invites Caroline to his new home for a memorable evening. When Maya questions Rick about his romantic past, he relives for her the story about his tumultuous relationship with Amber. Brooke turns to Deacon as a friend and tells him about her plan to ensure Ridge and Caroline do not last. Quinn is less than thrilled to find Deacon alone with his ex-lover, Brooke. When Steffy unloads her anger against all that is going on at Forrester Creations, Liam makes another attempt to get her to on board with his plan.
Following Liam’s reaction to her confession, Steffy instructs Liam that there is only one way that she will go along with his plan against Rick. Rick and Maya play puppet master with Aly, giving her false hope of greenlighting her proposed collection. Ivy becomes fed up with the poor treatment that she and Ivy have been receiving at home from Rick and Maya. Ridge assists Caroline in moving on from her marriage in a very romantic and artistic manner.
With the partial intention of putting Caroline in her place, Brooke lets Donna in on her plan to steal Ridge back. Wyatt takes one for the Spencer team when he returns to Forrester Creations to ask Rick for his job back and is forced to grovel. Having invited Ridge over for a discussion, Brooke uses her feminine wiles in an attempt to lure him back into her life. Concerned for his cousin’s wellbeing, Liam lays out for Caroline the many reasons why she should not pursue a relationship with Ridge.
Realizing that she is feeling insecure in their relationship now that Brooke is back in town, Deacon assures Quinn that she is the only woman for him. When Caroline overhears Donna telling Pam about Brooke’s plan to win Ridge back, she assures them that her relationship will persevere. Donna and Pam warn Caroline that Brooke and Ridge always end up together. As Brooke is attempting to work her magic on Ridge, he makes a heartfelt confession to her about his feelings.
Wanting to see firsthand all of the changes she’s been hearing about at Forrester Creations, Steffy pays an unannounced visit to Rick. The visit becomes tense when Steffy voices her disapproval of the way Rick is running the company. Brooke grows concerned about the direction of her future as she reminisces about the people from her past. Still unsure about where Deacon’s heart really lays, Quinn confronts him about his feelings for Brooke. Ivy has mixed feelings about Liam’s plan to take over Forrester Creations.
Wyatt is in disbelief about the way that he is spending Valentine’s Day and who he is spending it with in comparison to who he really wants to spend it with. Quinn gives Wyatt a cause for concern about her and Deacon’s relationship. Brooke and Deacon have a candid conversation about their lives over a couple of cocktails. Bill encourages Liam to take Steffy up on her counteroffer to participate in their plan. When Ivy encourages her to join forces with Liam to take Rick down, Steffy reveals her not-so-hidden agenda.
Because of his history with Brooke, and their previously tumultuous relationship, Donna questions Katie’s certainty about marrying Bill. Ridge has concerns about attending Bill and Katie’s wedding while making a first public appearance with Caroline as a couple. Brooke quenches her herself mentally and emotionally as she prepares for her sister and ex-fiancé’s nuptials. Caroline and Ridge’s relationship is the hot topic among the guests at the wedding.
One particular guest appears to be out of sorts as Bill and Katie walk down the aisle to be joined as husband and wife. Deacon can’t catch a break with Quinn as she drills him about his association with Brooke. Quinn voices her frustration and lack of empathy regarding Brooke and asks Deacon why he continues to be a part of Brooke’s life.
Rick is concerned about Eric’s return, fearing his father’s reaction when he learns of all that has happened in the office and at home. Meanwhile, Ridge is looking forward to Eric finding out about Rick’s misdeeds, hoping that his father will reconsider the position of CEO. Ivy assures Liam that she is secure enough in their relationship for him to be working with Steffy. Having called Liam for a meeting, Steffy has other items on her agenda besides discussing their plan to take over Forrester Creations.
Ivy reveals to Wyatt that she knows about the Spencer’s scheme to overtake Forrester Creations and force Rick out of power. Wyatt warns Ivy about Steffy’s aggressive ways of getting what she wants, and tells her that what Steffy has always wanted is Liam. Eric makes a controversial decision about which of his sons he plans to lend his support to. Liam is put in a difficult predicament when Steffy presents him with a stipulation to her participating in his plan.
Having fought tooth and nail for her marriage, Caroline receives a harsh realization that it’s time for her to move on when she is presented with a definite sign. Brooke becomes suspicious of the ulterior motives behind Maya’s request for support of her and Rick’s relationship. Rick’s flippant explanation of the event which occurred at the office gives Brooke and Maya a cause for concern about his current state of mind. Having been warned that Ridge is gathering witnesses to speak out against him to Eric, Rick takes action to thwart his brother’s attempt to get their father to change his mind. Ivy watches unseen as Steffy makes an aggressive attempt to get Liam to agree to her terms for assisting him with his plan against Rick.
When Ivy issues her a stern warning about the blatant move that she made on Liam, Steffy refuses to back down. Ridge is torn between his disdain for Rick and his loyalty to Eric when Liam approaches him about joining on in the plan for the Spencers acquiring Forrester Creations. Nicole makes an unannounced and unwelcomed visit to Maya at the Forrester mansion looking for a place to live.
Maya gets her hopes up thinking that she will soon become a member of the Forrester family when Rick presents her with token of his love. Ridge and Steffy contemplate assisting Liam’s attempt to overthrow Rick while discussing the ramifications of the Spencers taking over the company. Despite Rick’s recent bad behavior, Eric and Brooke confer about the confidence they have in their son’s ability to successfully run Forrester Creations. Ivy confesses to Liam about her earlier confrontation and her unwillingness to allow Steffy to come between them.
Bill and Katie bask in their reunited love as they enjoy the peace and quiet of Aspen during their honeymoon. Feeling as though they are starting a new chapter of their lives together, Katie assists Bill in closing a significant one from his past. When Eric graciously rejects her idea of continuing their conversation about Rick over drinks, Brooke takes her party of one to Il Giardino. A chance encounter puts Brooke and Deacon in the same location for two very different reasons. Deacon is torn when he must choose between Brooke’s invitation to stay with her and his commitment at home with Quinn.
Making her point in the most convincing way she knows how, Quinn issues a threat to Brooke to stay away from Deacon. Ivy questions Liam about the temptation that he has been dealing with ever since Steffy has been back in town. Ridge and Steffy go back and forth about whether they want to deal with Rick for another year as CEO, or join the Spencers in their attempt to takeover Forrester Creations. Being protective of his mother, Wyatt grills Deacon about his association with Brooke.
Steffy makes her intentions crystal clear to Ivy about what she expects from Liam if she goes along with his plan to acquire Forrester Creations. Actions speak louder than words when Maya questions Rick about the sincerity of his apologies to the others in the office. Wyatt gives Ivy a cause for concern when he explains to her the great lengths Steffy will take to get what she wants. Steffy pleads her case to Liam about why she wants him back in her life as a partner in business and in life.
Fresh from her conversation with Liam, Steffy pays a visit to Ridge to inform him about what she has planned for her future. An adamant Quinn refuses to cower down to Brooke’s refusal to allow her and Deacon to get married. Nicole moving into the Forrester Mansion isn’t well-received by the current occupants, especially Aly, who is forced to move out of her room. Maya catches onto the reason why Nicole has resurfaced into her life.
While settling into her new residence, Nicole presses Ivy and Aly for information about Maya and Rick’s relationship. When Quinn questions his continued association with Brooke, Deacon asks her to be more understanding about their affiliation. Wyatt updates Brooke on the current state of his and Hope’s marriage. Brooke is blunt with her opinion to Wyatt regarding her feelings towards Quinn and Deacon getting married. Maya questions Rick about their future together.
Having regrets about her recent behavior, Brooke takes a good look at herself and questions if this is the way she wants to proceed in her life. Rick confides in Maya the reason for his authoritative behavior at Forrester Creations. Seeing how she is being treated worse than the rest of them, Aly is encouraged to stand up to Rick. When Aly backs down, Ivy steps up and takes it upon herself to confront Rick about treating his family and employees disrespectfully.
Rick takes the next step in the process to dissolve his marriage to Caroline with the assistance of Carter. Wyatt asks Quinn to keep an article of value safe for him. Quinn and Wyatt share a cathartic moment when he decides to stop blaming her for the issues between him and Hope. Nicole becomes resistant when Maya attempts to get her out of the way, at least temporarily.
Tired of her intruding sister overstaying her welcome at the Forrester Mansion, Maya insists that Nicole pack her bags and leave. Refusing to adhere to Maya’s demand, Nicole makes an unwelcomed visit to a photo shoot at Forrester Creations, causing tension for their lead model. Concerned about her sister’s wellbeing, Katie turns to the person who knows Brooke the best for advice, Ridge. While discussing their worry for Brooke, former lovers, Ridge and Katie fill each other in on how their lives have changed while apart.
Given cause to worry by her conduct at their wedding, Katie and Bill check in on Brooke to ensure she has not spiraled out of control. Shaken by their visit and the stories from their blissful honeymoon, Brooke has a difficult time maintaining her sobriety. Hoping to find an excuse to get her sister out of her hair, and her house, Maya calls upon Carter to look into Nicole’s personal life. During his research, Carter discovers an important piece of information that Nicole has been keeping from Maya.
Seeing how excited his mother is about being engaged to Deacon, Wyatt tries his best to convince Quinn not to rush into getting married so quickly. Wyatt voices his concern about Deacon’s character, his past, and whether or not he is truly devoted to Quinn. Helping Brooke through her difficult time with not drinking, Deacon makes a promise to be there for her whenever she needs him. Maya confronts Nicole about the real reason why she came to Los Angeles.
Having helped her through an emotionally difficult time, Brooke thanks Deacon for being there for her and then apologizes for treating him so poorly throughout the years. Quinn is proud of Deacon for assisting a friend in need, not knowing that the friend is Brooke. Katie questions Rick about his relationship with Maya and advises him to think long and hard before rushing into anything permanent. Nicole finally gets the answers to the questions that she has been pondering since her childhood.
Still curious about the life that Maya has been living while in Los Angeles, Nicole has many more questions for her sister. During a staff meeting, Rick makes an example of Ivy by criticizing her work performance in front of her coworkers. Seeing the frustration from her nephew, Pam gives Ridge unsolicited advice on how to interact with Rick. Due to the disrespectful behavior he witnessed from Rick, Liam’s desire to take over Forrester Creations intensifies.
Bill pays an unwelcomed visit to Ridge’s home determined to question his nemesis’ intentions towards Caroline. The visit takes an even more uncomfortable turn when Bill sees the nude portrait that Ridge painted of Caroline. Nicole gets more insight into Maya’s personal and business life while observing her interaction with Rick. Knowing the tough day that she had at the office, Liam plans a romantic surprise for Ivy.
Having listened to Katie gush about her wedded bliss with Bill, Brooke admits to her sister about her recent struggle with loneliness. While planning the guest list for their wedding, Quinn suggests that Deacon invite his friend from his twelve-step program, unaware that the friend is Brooke. Knowing that Nicole is the keeper of her secret, Maya cowers down to her sister and retracts the suggestion for her to move out. Nicole agrees to work on her relationship with Maya, but asserts that she has certain expectations.
Rick calls an unsuspecting Quinn for a business meeting and proposes that she return to Forrester Creations. During a twelve-step meeting, Brooke shares with the other attendees her feelings of loneliness and thanks Deacon for being her support system through her tough times. Katie confides in Bill her concern about Brooke and the company that she has been recently keeping. Deacon confesses to Brooke the temptation that he has been dealing with, and it doesn’t include alcohol.
Everyone at Forrester Creations, especially Ivy, is upset and a bit terrified when they learn that Quinn has been rehired and will be working on the jewelry line. Quinn assures her once-again coworkers that she is a changed person and will regain their trust in time. Deacon wants to know from Brooke if there is a chance for them to be together before he marries Quinn. Katie warns Liam and Bill about one major obstacle that could stand in the way of them dethroning Rick as CEO.
Deacon feels torn about marrying Quinn when Brooke responds to him about their chances of being together. Katie confronts Brooke about her actions when she witnesses her sister and Deacon in a compromising position.
