They took quite a risk with the audience openly switching the main focus on Churchill. It definitely worked, adding more depth to the character and like the infamous painting, bringing the final strokes to what remain the best rendition of Winston Churchill we have ever seen on tv. But what make the episode unforgettable is the amazing timing, framing and editing of the final sequence. Simply a work of art.

Wow, what an amazing episode!

John Lithgow's performance of Churchill is outstanding, sometimes while watching I forget that it's just a role he is playing. I would totally watch a spin-off just about this character. The last scene was really great. I know I repeat myself, but again I have to compliment the cinematography and soundtrack!

Definitely worth mentioning are also all the scenes between Elizabeth and Philip. Full of suspense and exceptional acting!

The entire show so far has been on one level and "painting the pond" scene here is on another level entirely. The writing and acting in that particular exchange between Churchill and Sutherland was so incredible I couldn't just move on from it and finish the episode without watching it again and again. With last episode focusing on Margret and this one on Churchill, I'm thinking it's best if the show did that more often. It's becoming more clear with every episode Elizabeth is the least interesting character to watch.

That episode was so perfect in my opinion. I literally cried at the painting scene. It was so touching to me, even tho I didn't had such an experience as they had. I love John Lithgow's acting.

sorry to this ep but I do not give a shit about winston churchill so the central drama was meh. i do love liz and phillips toxic marriage though. shoutout to her for blatantly ignoring that she spend the whole of this ep emotionally cheating when she gave her big gotcha speech. don't get me wrong i am NOT a phillip defender but her sanctimony there was a little disingenuous

An episode primarily focused on Churchill and what an episode.
We learn more of Churchills past and the kind of man he thinks he is.
This episode certainly made me think there should be a Churchill series in the same format as The Crown. Of all the characters he is certainly the most intriguing and I think has the most to tell.

This Episode was clearly a dedication to Churchill!
Such a brilliant one!

It gave Churchill much more depth!

He may was one of the greatest politicians.
But he was wrong with one thing.
The Painting!
Such a masterpiece!

Maybe that's why he didn't liked it!
You see it and you kinda know what kind of person he was!

I thinks this is the best show i've ever seen! Can TV or acting get any better?

I'm so impressed by John Lithgow. He owns every second he's on screen. If his portrayal of Churchill is accurate, I don't know. And to be frank it's not important for me. I must say, even if everything shown in this show is pure fabrication (and my guess is with all dramtisation comes a bit of truth) it is on hell of a show.
