What a photo shoot that was?!
Interesting episode now that Russia's firmly back on autocratic soil... the hope for democracy certainly didn't last long, maybe a decade or even less.
Liked Miller's Major in this! Didn't like the queen's jealousy. Honestly, she leads a boring life, she comes across as unfeeling with an indifferent attitude towards anyone and anything, and it's not as though her lack in curiosity hadn't been mentionned in previous seasons.
And even if Penny's rendition of sibling rivalry etc might not be factually true, not saving the Romanovs because of WWI seems awfully political. I mean Mary herself was German, and who said anything about housing the Romanovs in Buckingham Palace or anywhere public? And let's not mention that the government was all for rescuing the Romanovs, one would think that the thought about associating with the enemy might have crossed their minds. So, maybe both Penny and the queen's explanations were a bit simplistic.
You can see how everybody here hates Russia. Everything was so gray and dull, except when they angle to the Queen: always so colorfull
horrific scenes at the start. maybe I missed the warnings but really shocking
President Yeltsin with all 10 fingers ???
Nobody in the production was diligent enough to fact-check?

Another great episode, although I did not expect such a gruesome opening scene from The Crown.
