Loved this show when it first came out but after season 3 it's just been downhill.
How long is this series going to run?
I rated great fo all the 4 seasons.
As many have said it just keeps getting worse.
Best of the Arrowverse shows minus the first season or two of Arrow. Although that is not saying much as the entire set of shows are disappointing and leave so much on the table. The cross over events each year are very enjoying. I'd recommend to at least watch those.
First 2 seasons I thought they were amazing after that it's been going down hill ever since , and now for this current season probably the worst ever, just random storyline out together each episode, every new character that comes in just cannot act. I'm only watching it for the sake of it now, I really hope the new season will be good if not then im done with the flash
Has the flash really ended? What about the flash missing in crisis newspaper April 2024? Is there no episode for that...
This Show was ok In the Start, but the Awkward story telling recently makes it a DRAB to watch..
Enjoyed all DC/CW shows at one point, but I have now stopped watching all shows except for Superman and Lois.
I loved this show until season three. Don't get me wrong, I will still watch it when I got absolutely nothing to do, but I'm not addicted to it. Like the alchemy thing I like, bit savitar is not it. Also, I hate Barry allen as the character. Overall, this show right now is a five out of ten. I've seen worse
Stopped watching. Trying to get back into it.
I stopped watching halfway through episode 9 of season 7, and the show was one of my top 5 favorite shows on TV still airing, so it is really as bad as you say. This is mainly the fault of Eric Wallace, who is the worst showrunner ever, worse than Guggenheim (Arrow's showrunner).
Season 1: 9/10 (Amazing, one of the best seasons of the entire show)
Season 2: 9/10 (As good as Season 1)
Season 3: 8/10 (Great season but the villain is less cool and there are less good episodes)
Season 4: 7/10 (Good season overall but mediocre ending)
Season 5: 6/10 (Decent first half with Cicada, Terrible second half with Cicada II)
Season 6: 5/10 (Decent first half with Bloodwork, Mediocre second half with Mirror Monarch)
Season 7: 4/10 (The entire season sucks)
If you look at the showrunner per season, it's easy to see the reason why the show got worse over time.
Season 1 was led by Andrew Kreisberg
Season 2 was led by Andrew Kreisberg, Gabrielle Stanton, Aaron Helbing, and Todd Helbing
Season 3 was led by Andrew Kreisberg, Aaron and Todd Helbing
Season 4 was led by Andrew Kreisberg and Todd Helbing
And then Andrew Kreisberg was fired by the production team of The Flash because of sexual harassment accusations, there were even men who accused him, so he was a bisexual predator. I'm not saying that they should have kept Andrew Kreisberg, but they should have at least replaced him with someone who was able to provide the same level of quality as before.
So then, Season 5 was led by Todd Helbing. It was still pretty decent in my opinion, except for the part with Cicada II, but still there were some great parts with the Reverse Flash, which was my favorite character on the show, which Tom Cavanagh played so well.
But then, Todd Helbing had to leave because he felt like the show was preventing him from spending time with his family, he had children and wanted more time to spend with them and his wife, so he quit.
So, for Season 6 and Season 7, the CW chose Eric Wallace, and of course, they had no way of knowing what he would do with the show and it ended in disaster. And now, because of him, the ratings are worse than they have ever been. And there are only some fanboys/fangirls on Reddit who are blinded by fandom so much that they praise him, because most people hate what Eric Wallace has done with the show.
The main problem that the CW has is that it hires bad showrunners sometimes and instead of firing them, they let them stay, no matter how bad the ratings get. I have nothing against gender diversity, sexual diversity, or ethnic diversity, but it should never be seen as a replacement for good writing and a good cast of actors. The best actors of this show are mainly Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash), Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells/Reverse Flash) and Jesse L Martin (Joe West).
Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon) and Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow) were also pretty good but their characters are being removed in order to be replaced by worse characters.
And the worst thing is that it doesn't take a genius to write good episodes of The Flash. Eric Wallace could have just given to the fans what they wanted instead of sacrificing quality for SJW politics and everyone would have been happy and the ratings would have been great. With the CGI that they have access to, it doesn't take much to make a fun show that lots of people will want to see.
The main things that are missing this season are (from most important to less important):
1) A good main villain (like Reverse Flash, Zoom and Devoe)
2) Good side villains (like Captain Cold, King Shark, Grodd, The Trickster, Pied Piper, Abra Kadabra, Vandal Savage)
3) A good cast of actors (The original main cast from season 1)
4) Enough episodes that focus on the story, and filler episodes should be at least more entertaining than those that focus on the story. Supernatural did this very well with episodes like "Mystery Spot", "Changing Channels", "The French Mistake", "Scoobynatural", "LARP and The Real Girl", "Ghostfacers", "Fan Fiction", "Yellow Fever", "The Real Ghostbusters", "Bad Day at Black Rock", "Time After Time".
5) Lots of action and only a bit of drama, but not too much so that it doesn't become a soap opera
6) Some progression of the characters, especially The Flash's powers and his speed should be getting better each season like how Clark's speed in Smallville kept getting better and better from season 1 to season 10. And if they are going to give lots of screen time to Allegra, then we should be seeing her using her powers a lot more, she almost never uses them. This show has great CGI that it almost never uses, and it's not like it costs too much because once you have the equipment for the CGI, it doesn't cost more money to add more since it is made from the computer, so they are just being lazy because the showrunner Eric Wallace is lazy.
7) More surprising plot twists throughout the season
8) Less useless dialogue and less cringey dialogue (with 45 minutes of runtime per episode, they should be able to do a lot more, even with their limited budget)
9) More screen time for the characters that people want to see (especially The Flash) and less screen time for side characters
10) More crossover events than just 1 per year. Crossovers are what people want to see, and since all the shows are filmed in the same studio, it shouldn't be very difficult to do it.
My prediction is that if the CW doesn't fire Eric Wallace, they will keep the show running until they start losing money, because although the ratings are bad, if they are still letting him run the show, it must be because they are satisfied with the profits, because the production of TV shows is always about making money, not necessarily pleasing the consumers, unlike in other industries, where public opinion would matter more.
Many people are so picky about the shows that they choose to watch that they will say that everything that the CW has ever made is bad, but the truth is that although it cannot match the level of quality of HBO or AMC shows, the CW is still able to make great TV shows on some occasions when they have a good enough showrunner. People often use Arrow and The Flash as examples to mock the CW but they forget that it's the same network which also made Smallville and Supernatural, both of which were extremely successful, so it's not the network that is to blame, it's the showrunners that the network picked. But even big studios like Warner Bros make that mistake a lot by hiring people like Zack Snyder or Joss Whedon to direct their movies, which makes them end up with bad ratings. I think that is because it is impossible to predict how well a showrunner will be, because even if you look at their history, it doesn't guarantee that their future work will be as good as what they made in the past since there are only a few directors who are able to maintain the same level of quality over many decades (guys like Quentin Tarantino).
I really wish the show either gets fixed or cancelled so that everyone can finally get what they want or just move on. And I am especially curious as to what will be Grant Gustin's next acting job after The Flash because he has a really good level of acting talent and he has a great singing voice too.
It's that MEH show, sometimes is good other times looks like a show made for children, but i will give a try to season 2 maybe they got the point!
It's that MEH show, sometimes is good other times looks like a show made for children, but i will give a try to season 2 maybe they got the point!
Is not like arrow but its good :) i will keep seeing it, maybe too much teenager
Once upon a time i gave this show a 10 star rating on Trakt. Although the "villain per week" with the "big bad per season" was getting kind of old, it made sense. If i wanted to watch a nice super hero movie i would go to the cinema and watch one from Marvel, if i wanted to stay at home i would watch something from the Arrowverse like "The Flash".
Currently, every tv/movie franchise needs to provide inclusivity for each type of individual. Everyone should have the right to relate to a character and dream what would life be in a fantasy world. The main problem is, execution. The budget for great CGI may differ largely comparing to a big action movie but ideas are priceless. This is where "The Flash" started failing.
This "power of love" thing to solve everything is getting out of hand. Either the "big bad" redeems itself at the end, or wasn't so bad after all. If in the rare case it reveals to be impossible, something in the storyline will get him killed because the Flash doesn't kill. Everything is solved with friendship, love or family.
Marvel revolutionised the way we watch TV Show, regardless of their CGI budget. You know it's good when the show ends and you keep thinking about what some character said, that is not the case anymore. Sometimes it feels like "The Flash" already died and we're trying to love a zombified version of itself.
But what is grief, if not love persevering?
I started watching tv shows with the flash, at that I loved it. I've grown and now I think it's not good now.
But I realized one thing now, This whole show is only for the guy who watched it 9 years ago, not for me now.
Anyway, Thank god it ended, I hated the seasons and last few episodes. That's the sign of my growth I guess.
Thank you for being part of my life Flash. I want to thank Blake Neely for the amazing music.
How do you rate a show that hasnt aired yet? Well i saw the first one online so i guess i'll rate from that, and i enjoyed what i watched, i hope my rating will go up to 5 by the time the season ends :)
So in this show, the meta-humans mostly received their powers by accident.
At this point in time we have seen 81 of them. Of the 81, 48 have been evil, 6 have been evil-ish, and 27 have been good.
This puts the percentage of the evil population of meta-humans at 59.3%.
The current population of america that have been incarcerated for violent crimes is 0.07%.
That means that meta-humans are a little under 900x times as likely to be evil compared to the rest of the population. Which is far above any potential statistical blip.
As far as I know there is no reason given in the show for the massive spike in evilness. Many of them are criminals before hand, or as soon as they gain powers decide to start robbing banks just because they can.
At this point i'm surprised they give any new meta-humans the benefit of the doubt instead of just imprisoning them all forever.
Season 8 is so so bad i don't know why they are making season 9 the show is falling in quality season by season
Can be a spoiler if you haven't watched the franchise finale episode.
That was… an anti-climatic ending. It's lacking in so many ways. We can probably blame it on the unfortunate compressed season. They want to tell a lot of things, they want to put a closure on a lot of things.
Then again, the number of episodes doesn't really matter. Look at #Fringe and the #12Monkeys. Those two were cancelled and had a shorter finale season, yet they ended with a bang. I've watched the entire Fringe franchise like 7, 8 now? I lost count. And I've watched the 12 Monkeys 3 times now, and looking forward to watching it the 4th time this year.
And, this franchise of Flash? As much as Flash is my favourite DC character, only up to Season 5 is worth re-watching. 6, 7, 8, fine, we can probably push it. But Season 9? Nah, especially not this franchise finale episode.
I'm sorry, but it is what it is.
The second season is awesome!
Will forever be one of my favorite shows!
Yes the first few seasons are the best of this show but I still loved seeing the last seasons just because I loved seeing the flash and his team.
I’ll miss this show for sure but I’m glad it’s over now.
After watching it all, what I can basically say is, it loses steam after a few seasons. Season 1 was great. It made it feel like my favourite show, but as seasons went on, the show got kinda predictable with dialogue, kinda dull and it felt like it dragged on. Romance scenes were predictable, everyone tried to force a weird peppy tone in their acting and villains would try to sound overly-monsterous, but I think my final straw was when they shoved the cast of Caitlin and Cisco to the side and basically replaced it with Chester and Allegra. Those two were annoying, and may have been what truely pushed me to drop the show at one point. I then came back though to watch the rest, cause I heard the show finally ended.
If anything, this may be the best Flash show we'll get. It had good villains, and especially pulled off Flash's nemesis, "Reverse Flash", well. It had a decent array of a cast, although I disliked the later addition of Chester and Allegra, and then Khione, and I disliked when Iris stole the spotlight, but beyond that, the show had interesting plot twists and cool fights. Some dialogue may have felt cringe, but not all dialogue was bad. And anyway, yeah, I think it was a decent show, but it just got mid and watered down over time, cause it went on for too long, and the show may have had their writers forced into a position where they had to keep coming up with plot, thus why it felt dragged on, but that's just my assumption. But yeah. And that's my final word on it.
First 3 seasons are great, fourth is good, fifth okay, and then weak sauce seasons
the show started with so much promise and was so fun to watch as it unraveled the mysteries. but by mid series, it kept taking a nosedive, forcing stories and trying to make it more about cheap characters with cheap storylines. I dreaded to watch through the last half of the show post-crisis, only because im a completionist.
1st 3 Seasons were S tier and after that the show went down hill with season 7 being the worst of them all. Season 5, 6, 8 were ok and 9 was a fairly decent season finale considering the show was dropping in quality
Once I started watching I was hooked! My favorite show in the Arrow-verse and possibly one of my favorite shows period. Though I have to admit that the first two seasons are by far the best of the series so far. Barry Allen as portrayed by Grant Gustin is very enjoyable to watch, he makes Barry feel like a real person and Tom Cavanagh in his many many versions of Wells is a treat each and every time, though also here; the favorites are in the first two seasons.
Seasons are getting progressively worse
"The Flash"?? LOL, more like "Saving Iris"
Fun, light, and entertaining. Fresh breath of air!
S9 - The Cecile Show. Only watch S9E9/10 for quality ignore rest of it. Goodbye My Gen's Barey* Barry Allen/The Flash aka Grant Gustin - You were the 100% heart S1-9 character.
Rory and Supergirl make a better / more interesting pairing than that jabroni they're trying to push on her now.
This is the first Arrow-verse show that I've been watching and it is entertaining. Nothing too special but just plain old fun. Really like the interactions between the main characters.
Hopefully before the end of season 9 it wraps things up with kaitlyn, grog, ceceel, and the time line when flash is supposed to vanish.
It is incredible how a series can be ruined, since season 7 which has been easy to predict, season 8 already seems made for young children, silly situations, child problem solving, etc, the truth is that this series is already tired ...
S9 - why did you have to bring in Batwoman bs! I will miss Grant/Flash, Caitlyn/snow/frost , Sue Dearboen was ok & mark but not the rest. Glad S9 is last one with such bad writing that nothing cam save it now. Was the dflash show became flash and his scooby gang show - they should have ended ot as at S3 I am still a grant flasjh fan bur not DCEU DCU exzre we ea ezra a*??hole d fan. Goodbye Arrowverse.
What is going on with flash ?, its not in my collection anymore.
[AFTER SEASON 8]
Is it over yet?
for me , the Seasons keep getting worse. worst acting in all the DC Universe. let's start with getting rid of Caitlin Snow/Frost. sorry, not to be mean, but her acting is terrible and only got worse. the VERY brief scene in Season 8 Ep 18 in her apartment, she had a small glimmer of hope. ... but damn, how many Seasons before her acting gets believable
I want to bang Iris so bad!
this series is not good, "the flash" most boring and unfortunate history
S8 E12 suddenly I am interested because there are high stakes and an unknown resolution to stopping the bad guy. If only every episode was like this.
can't take it anymore. i am done.
After three seasons, the show is still very entertaining. It does, however, start to show a little villain fatigue in that they really need a non-Speedster main villain. I've cared about Savitar way less than I did about Zoom and Reverse-Flash.
They just announced S9 will be The Final Season. Apparently Grant Gustin has been wanting to leave since S4+ but obviously the money and regular wio* work for the whole cast and himself x convinced him to stay on. S8 really does not have a purpose for existing, just some characters interacting & bad guy stopped in 2 mins. I watch only because I like soe* Grant/Flash j acting/character and N Frost/Caitlin everyonw else I liked from OG team has left long ago. The story went downhill once it lost its regualr Rogues gallery/Captain Cold. We never saw Golden Glider again once cold snart left for LOT so have no idea of what has happ3ned to her character which again I enjoyed - Glider/Vibe was fun. Not the worst DC show but boring after S3ish.
One of the only shows I look forward to returning every year!
To anyone thinking of starting this show, be warned that the show gets worst every season. The latest season (season 7) is basically pile of shit.
Watch first 3 seasons, they are great, after that don't even bother because you'll end up wasting your life away.
I predict S9 with be The Final Season. The wroters better work a miracle to keep the loyal fanbase amd rwecruit neeebies
after season 4, it got kinda boring
Right from start of S8 E2 - It was very obvious Joe west is missing and the way every character was behaving - Iris (I must go look after Cecile & Jenne) , the dialogue between Cecile and Iris made it obvious to me that Joe is dead somehow killed/died from illness inbetween S7 to S8 hiatus. I expected tgis to be a traumatic event but barry had been acting pretty normal until the twist that he has had g* his memories messed with so he forgot Joe's dead. Hoe* How is tgis not laughable - a whole 6 months went by and nobody talked about Joe to barry so ony now he finds out and gets trigerred. The dialogue between Barry & Iris was stupid - Normal ppl say "Since Dad passed/died Cecile needs my support" not since "You know what happened, I gootta go babysit". With all my fave DC heroes gone these shows are no longer fun to watch - Arrow finished. Supergirl ending. Superman & Lois is based in a separate universe than flash & superfirl it seems so unlikely any crossover expected. The Flash storylines boring. Chester & Cecile overact in all their reactions - Hate Ceciles constant 'make big eyes to seem serious or angry or when using powers' she is an okn character but bodylanguage acting it seems is not her forte. I miss Cisco. Caitlin seems to have changed in character. Frost sidelined. Barry what have the writers done to you!
Unfortunately, The Flash has turned into a full woke train wreck of constant sobbing and drama laden pep talks and zero accountability.
Thanks alot fktards. ..l..
Show has gone downhill starting with season 4. Hopefully they put an end to this show. Every season gets worst.
My 4 year old twins and I love the show . I even bought flash custom figure. I recommend it.
The beginning was good and it went downhill from there.
Now the latest season is the biggest load of crap I've ever seen. Storyline is just stupid and I keep fast forwarding the episode.
I hated Iris since the very beginning. Now I despise this character and wish she dies every single episode.
Hopefully, the next season will be the last.
The only season worth watching is season 1, because it was great, and afterwards it’s the same routine with every season. No real change or development at all. This show made me hate the Flash.
I really think this is the best DC show on CW although I agree with the fact that the villains always seem to be speedsters. I hope that great villains who aren't speedsters will appear soon
This is what i do. I dont just solve mysteries. I bust myths. I bust them wide open.
No phasing.
Reminds me of leverage.
And project blue.
The first season of the show was greaaaat! After that things started to down roll and it now became a daily soap opera show. Highly disappointed. The makers should have had stopped the show after the 3 season. At least till that time it was great cast, great storyline, great villains.
Very very very disappointed to know that the makers still think that this can be more milked out.
Best TV show of all time
Great Season 5 Finale.. But Overall Terrible Pacing which Killed a great plot and writing
They gotta cut the episode count down to 13 imo
A little better, still hate Nora.
Good episode. Good to see John Wesley Shipp in this episode (The Original Flash from the early 90's).
At first this was an awesome show. I started watching arrow because of it. But now its just repeating the same story again again with just new villains and new metas every week. Its become quite boring now actually. I only watched for the crossovers
Here is summary for the later seasons: diversity over quality.
An ok show to watch, actors aren't super great, and the seasons get repetitive, so I stopped watching after season 5, but I would still recommend watching a few seasons.
This is what all superhero shows should be... it's fun. It's enjoyable. It embraces the lunacy of comic books without being a complete farce. It even manages to hit high emotional notes. Grant Gustin is just a delight as Barry and Jesse L. Martin is a national treasure.
The Flash & DC Legends are the only Arrow-verse shows I am watching.
Surprisingly, I can't stand Arrow, the flagship show.
I still think Arrow is better than DC Legends.
The Flash rules! Lovable characters, great cast; sweet, fun, entertaining.
I adore the effects in this show it's almost seems real
Got to say I love watching this with my kids. Very entertaining show!
It takes some time to build up, but once it started going I really started to like this show.
I am really impressed with "Flash" serie. The plot is getting more and more engaging every episode I am watching. I am still on Season 1 and it's outstanding!!!! Congrats!! Loving alot!!
The only serie with science fiction characters that i watch without being bored.
I like this movies.someone come from china.we do not like America, because this country like war。
It has the potential to be great. Pilot not bad.
Can we get Earth 2 in season 2 tho.
This show started off fine, but nothing crazy going. I was interested in watching it because flash has a really rich story and spinoffs in comics and in DC animated movies, even the Justice League movie flash wasn't bad, what I want to say is that flash is a character which is really difficult to ruin. Yet, for some reason, this series made it all so bad, instead of giving us a rich story with each episode they converted this series into a cash grab and each episode feels like a filler at this point.
I have to abandon this now. GG.
I think the stupiest thing I've seen in this show is flash triyng hard to pick a guy in a motorcycle.
this is one of the worst seasons i have ever seen !! if i dont see some good action in finale this show is over for me
Really nice...However there are some serious issues and holes with the time travel...Hope next these things will be made clear next season!!
Season 4 is the best so far, it is funnier and looser, it doesn't take itself that seriously and they did try some different types of jokes (with the usual bad ones here and there). But overall is a great season compared with the other four. The first season was pretty introductory and Reverse Flash was just annoying since we don't really know what truly motivates him so worse villain so far. The second season's villain was zoom, he was more interesting and better structured and developed. Savitar was also interesting. DeVos, however, manages to take the cake of best flash villain from this so-so TV series, I'm a sucker for plots "corruption of the good intended".
Season 5 in 09 october
Spoilers ahead !
When Barry was going to stop the satellite by hitting it another speedster's hand came in whose color was like purple. Who helped Barry destroy that satellite. At the end of the episode Nora Allen who is the future daughter of Barry and Iris arrives to their home. And she says "She made a big, big mistake" Also Ralph is not dead he came back to life, Barry saved him from DeVoe's mind.
it's a bit too "villain of the week"-y at the moment, but i hope it finds its feet
My favourite.....tv show i ever seen....
Hope they make a 4th season. Though Barry's era had ended
As a comic book character The Flash Is up there with the best, the TV show does a pretty good job of honouring that to. Very good stories, excellent characters and overall a damn good show.
It's for children for fu@k sake
How i can watch this
It gets slow and clunky sometimes, but when it is firing on all it's cylinders, this show has one of the most entertaining hours of television.
My son favorite show
Sad Barry become Awesome Superhero... from there he went down to become a Super Whiny Biatch! Stopped watching at season 3.
Actually, such an awesome show, the plot and development of characters go deep and its so well thought out. Incredible
The series started really strong but hit the slope after season 2. Repeating ideas and characters getting boring quick. Candice Patton as Iris adds to the downfall of the show. She has not chemistry with Barry, and is useless for the team but gets the front seat all the time.
Am I the only one who thinks that if Barry never was struck by lightning, and gave him super speed, everything would be ok? After this years watching the show, he's trying to fight people and things that he mess up.
this show is... Very simple? I think that's the right word. There are no complicated plots, except for time travel stuff.. Which really nobody would miss if it wasn't there. If you can't make something really deep and meaningful, make it simple and easy to get. Now it is somewhere in the middle of all that and the spectator is lost not knowing what to think of the show.
First two seasons are (almost) fine, if you like the ArrowVerse / DC Universe. More childish than Arrow, a little more credible than SuperGirl... However passing the second half of the second season, it becomes kinda stupid and boring / repetitive in its narrative.

Really fun to watch. much better than arrow.
