Well.. Guess Flash full blown woke now.
Please, just cancel it! Even the main actor is showing “I don’t want to play the role anymore” face in every episodes!
Season 7 is shitty af
FIRST THOUGHTS:
Hands down the worst season so far. I appreciate the show’s constant movement toward redemption for its villains - it’s the show’s major strength. But the story pods are so disjointed and, at times, just plain goofy, that it’s hard to take anything that happened on the show this season seriously. I know they were operating under more difficult COVID protocols, but they didn’t find compelling ways to counter missing cast members, narrative holes, and bad special effects.
Easily the worst season with no contest.
The story is incredibly disjointed. Instead of having a single major villain for the season they have 3 arcs. This often works pretty well in shows but the problem with this one is that arc 1 was two episodes finishing the previous season with mirror master, arc 2 lasted seven episodes, and arc 3 lasted four, not giving enough time for the villains of those arcs to really be explored beyond an incredibly surface level.
To make matters worse, none of the arcs are connected to each other at all. The events are not related and they have no flow. They switch between arcs by simply having a bunch of garbage filler episodes.
And to top it off, the writing in this season was abysmal. There are several episodes which are meant to be integral to the plot where my best description of events of those episodes is "stuff happens" because there is so little sense, reason or explanation for why it's happening. It's just stuff happening while we're told it's important.
It doesn't help that they decided to air this season at the same time as Batwoman season 2 (which was actually good, a huge improvement) and Superman and Lois which is absolutely phenomenal. CW didn't just make a bad season, they also gave it direct comparisons to highlight just how bad it was.
I feel like this show could've taken such a better turn if Savitar had actually killed Iris. Instead they decided to just turn it into a cringefest.
This season makes side characters do a lot of work, yet the writing makes them seem empty. I hope they are just trying to seed some new story lines for better seasons ahead rather than the writers being unable to write themselves out of this rut they all seem to be in.
I love this Series! But season 7 feels like a giant filler….

It’s like the CW wants us to know so badly that words matter. That they told the writers to remind us constantly.
Barry to soft now that it’s sickening. He has defeated bad guys with a nice to talk to this whole season. As well as a lot of love conquers all corniness going on.
Grant Gustin just looks bored in most of his scenes as well. More so than the actors who actually left this season, did.
