The Good Place

Season 4

Few shows have made me feel the way this has, and I don’t think I’ve watched another that has an ending as satisfying and clean as this one. If there are flaws to this show, I am glad I do not know them.

A fitting ending for one of the most creative shows to hit public airwaves. It is still hard to believe that this show existed when you look at the idiocy that passes for comedy and storytelling in the shows with laugh tracks. The last three episodes are incredible.

The future of humanity lies in the hands of Michael and his friends in the fourth and final season of The Good Place. Michael, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason set out to prove that humans can become worthy of the Good Place if given the proper guidance in a winner-take-all final neighborhood simulation, but the Bad Place attempts to rig the game by throwing several surprises their way. Unfortunately the show makes the classic mistake of showing too much by going too far into the afterlife and how it works, or doesn’t (offensively so in some cases). Still, the comedy is as fun and clever as ever, and there are some touching character moments; particularly in the series finale. It’s problematic for sure, but Season 4 of The Good Place is entertaining and gives the series a nice sense of closure.

If you're a fan and liked this series you will have a big treat waiting for you in the last episode in this final season. They made a perfect ending for each of the characters and closure to the story and I really recommend you to get through to the episodes even some of them this last season are not that great but I promise the ending makes up to it.

A little note I gave the last episode a 10 rating. Just to convince you to watch this season.

I'm gonna miss Jason always referencing Blake Bortles in the show. BORTLES!

Yeah, it's "Good" (Trakt's definition of 7/10). I thought the execution (performances) was more consistent than it had been before, but unfortunately the underlying philosophical concepts didn't hold for me. Eleanor might have made a selfish rule that Chidi can't leave, but isn't it also selfish for Chidi to leave Eleanor? That's the kind of thing I mean.

What an amazing ending for an amazing series. It's incredibly funny, smart, poignant and frankly moving. Great writing, great acting, great directing.
