Spin-off confirmed: The Best Place. Rumours of Stan Lee and David Bowie for the main roles.
Taking the first two "episodes" as one, full 1-hr episode (as likely intended), I have a few thoughts:
- Michael and Eleanor's scene really made me remember these are great actors. I really felt like Kristen changed the tone of the show (for good, here) to serious, authentic, and heartfelt in about 5 seconds.
- I actually like what they're doing with the B-plots, where I don't really feel like they're being haphazardly tossed in. I think it's probably because these actors/writers really know these characters now, and so do we. It's just smoother now.
- I not a big Tahani fan unfortunately, but I liked the slightly different and creative spin on her joke style that they used this ep.
Chidi and Simone feels less forced than Chidi and Eleanor. Even if it is predictable that Chidi and Eleanor will be together in the end either way.
Eleanor: If we want him to understand he doesn't belong here, we don't need a drawing board... We need to bust him open like a pinata.
Michael: We tried that in the Bad Place. The goo that comes out doesn't taste as good as candy.
Eleanor: No, dude, metaphorically.
LOOOOOL
Michael with the dad vibes once again. How can a devil be such father material?

Eleanor is seriously rocking those suits

Jason's reaction to the Blake Bortles news was disappointing. They didn't give it nearly performance it deserved.
